The Old Market Inn — Restaurant in England

I’ve had brilliant experiences here previously but today was just shambles and I was so embarrassed to have picked this venue for our Mother’s Day meal 😩 When we arrived we ordered our drinks and waited 20 minutes until we chased to which they said the receipt at the till fell on the floor - when they delivered the drinks they were missing 3 of our drinks. When ordering the starter I asked them to serve the food plain to which she said “the sauces come in separate bowls” which I planned on giving to my family. An hour passed and we had to chase (please bear in mind the starter was cheese, pate and bread and bread with oil - no cooking needed) when they did arrive the sauce was on my food and not in separate bowls - I would of asked for a new one but I couldn’t be bothered waiting an hour again. We wanted to order additional sides with our main but were only asked to order starters at the beginning and no member of staff throughout asked us if we were happy with our food. When the mains did come out they were hardly warm and had hardly any gravy (again we would of complained but it was 6pm at this point and we arrived at 4:30 - we couldn’t be bothered waiting and would have left but we already paid a deposit for 3 courses) we asked for some sauces, and had to chase as they forgot to bring them to us. When it came to ordering dessert we were told they only had 1 menu option left (should have told us at the beginning really as a heads up) and we asked for a refund of our 3rd course and left). I have heard the kitchen is struggling to recruit staff at this place hence the reduced menu so I can’t fathom why they went ahead with today as they clearly didn’t have enough people there to support? Also in initial communications we were asked to confirm our meat choices over email, maybe next time they should ask for our starter and puddings to avoid such chaos. Would not recommend at all, especially on a Sunday as the staff cannot cope, hopefully next time I visit it will be better as this is my...

We took the time to pre-book a table, on arrival although the table had a reserve sign on it people were using it. We were offered alternative seating on bar seats! This was not an option for us and found our own table. Drink menu was nonexistent for ale or bitter drinkers. We ordered our food and drinks, after 10 mins some came to advise that one of our food options was not available so new meal ordered. Food came roast dinners were great, pizza was questionable and the boa buns were a let down. During our food a waitress came over to see how things were and decided to clean some glasses and plates as she did this she leant over my mother in law who was try to eat her meal! We ordered from the 3 puddings the restaurant offers and after a good 5 mins the waitress came to say one wasn't available. Surely with only 3 puddings on the menu they should know what wasn't available. 15 mins later we were informed that there would be a slightly longer wait to receive the other two ordered puds. We had booked for a Saturday night which was very busy but we had to still wait half an hour for a table I suppose you can't blame them for being popular so we ordered our food and drinks on the app but when 40 minutes had passed and we had drank our drinks we enquired where our food was and only then we were told to expect 45min to 1hour wait on food ? But we're giving a free drink of our choice and waited another 15min and our food was ready which was buttermilk chicken burger and fries the burger was really good and generous and so we're the fries we also had bao buns which were really nice and truffle cheese topped chips which were OK but not anything amazing and calamari which was nice but a but a bit chewy and a cheese and garlic bread pizza which was greasy and the base was either undercooked or just...
