The Plough Inn — Restaurant in England

Really disapointed with the customer service. Visited with my husband and baby. I said hello. Staff saw us, we got a high chair set up ourselves. Spent about 10- 15 minutes looking at the food menu got up to order and were only then told that the kitchen wasnt prepared to serve us food because they had a christmas party in.

2 members of staff stood behind bar so not rushing backwards and forewards.

Please train your staff so that in the future they make it known immediately that you are not doing food. Or remove menus from the tables so that it is clear.

I wont bother going back which is a shame. Its location...

Great drinks! Great food! Great atmosphere! Made us wish that we had a local inn/pub like this near our home. The barman was friendly, helpful and kept us laughing. As a group of Americans traveling all day, it was greatly appreciated. He made some suggestions when we were attempting to pick out drinks and after allowing me to sample them it was obvious that he knew his stuff. He also suggested a cider for my wife that was extremely good. The locals were also friendly. They struck up conversation and were kind enough to suggest some areas of interest while visiting. Overall, just a wonderful/smashing experience...

The warmest welcome, friendliest staff and best atmosphere I have experienced for years. Despite my shortcomings, they are always happy to see me, extremely helpful and supportive. Hannah even plays songs on request and always has a smile for all. 🙂 There is a large beer garden, that still retains a secluded feel and a covered smoking area for those rainy days or nights.
