Mesmerising feast of flavours
Well where can I start ! This is the second time upon visiting the poynton pakora and I have to say I was blown away. I ordered the chicken biryani, chicken nagpuri, pilau rice, lamb podina and garlic Nan Firstly, shout out to the owner Ash who once again went the extra mile to ensure my experience was a happy one and took great care of us on our anniversary. We firstly were given some complimentary poppadums accompanied with beautiful sauces, the in house coleslaw was wonderfully creamy and also the unique gorgeous tangy green sauce they did as well! The mains we started with the chicken biryani which was beautifully cooked with a wonderful array of flavours and overlooked on a bed of omelette ! Next on to the chicken nagpuri and it did say on the menu this was spicy but my word this had a wonderful concoction of flavours with what I can simply describe as a fire work display of flavours in my mouth ! Simply Amazing !! And it wasnât too hot complimented beautifully with the nan and rice. The lamb podina was delicious as well as the meat melted in your mouth with a delicious tangy sauce. The wife absolutely loved this. Just couldnât fault the food overall and the lovely service that was provided. The waiters were never too hesitant to cater to our needs and always willing to go the extra mile.
The food and whole experience was wonderful and also added mention to the waiter Martin who had great banter with us and his English has improved vastly since we last met.
We will definitely be returning once we are back up north and the best Indian cuisine I have had in Manchester by a country mile! Keep up the great food to the Poyntonteam! And...

I started with the vegetable pakoras, which were crispy and full of flavour, especially with the mint chutney on the side. For the main course, I went with the chicken dupiaza and it was amazing. The chicken was so tender, and the sauce was rich and just the right amount of spicy. The garlic naan was fresh and perfect for soaking up the sauce.
The service was spot onâfriendly, helpful, and always there when we needed something. The staff gave great recommendations and made sure we were well taken care of.
What really stood out was how authentic and delicious the food was. You can tell the chefs really know their stuff and put a lot of love into each dish. If youâre after a great Indian meal, youâve got to check out this restaurant. I canât wait to go back...
Read moreHad a meal here with friends on Saturday 12 July. Weâve all eaten at many Indian restaurants (both high end and budget) over the last 40 plus years so I think we all know whatâs good or bad and what things are worth. As far as the food goes two of the dishes were ok, the meat was good quality but the sauces too think for our tastes. Our friends Dansak however was very poor though. I could explain what was technically what was wrong with it but havenât got the time or inclination for this review. The worse thing for us wasnât the very average service but the high price of all the dishes. Unfortunately the food doesnât come up to the price theyâre charging. They also added a mandatory service charge of 8% The mandatory service charge wasnât obviously visible on the menu so we felt slightly conned by that. Overall we wonât be going back as thereâs plenty of good Indian restaurants that offer better...
