Attended the Tap last week for a pre-booked gathering. It was a football awards evening and we decided to rent out the top floor. No issues at all when there, our group were polite and courteous to all staff members and we did not interact with any other customers whom were situated on the lower floor at the main bar. We left about 10pm. One of the lads with us whom likewise works at a local drinking establishment noticed that a member of staff from the Tap had sent a message to the local ‘pub watch’ WhatsApp group. The message basically read that we caused acts of criminal damage, presented as highly inebriated, and ‘rowdy’. The staff member whom sent the message also stated he would ‘take photos’ of our group and put them in the group chat so other pubs in the area would be ‘aware of us’. Unbeknown to the lemon whom sent the message, one of our own lads saw the message given he was part of the same private WhatsApp group. He shared the information with the rest of us and we were utterly perplexed by the allegations made. At no point was our behaviour ‘rowdy’ nor did we engage in ‘laddish’ antics during our night at the Tap. We rented our own floor thus separate from other customers. We acted appropriately in the bar area and at no point became disrespectful to staff. It is disgusting that a staff member thought it appropriate to fabricate malicious allegations about our group and even post it into a WhatsApp group to ‘warn’ other pubs! The fact he was also going to take photos of us without our permission to send to people we didn’t know is also a breach of personal privacy and again a pathetic attempt to discredit us. At no point during the evening was our behaviour challenged by staff or the manager, and we perceived it to be a good evening prior to the malicious message sent by the Tap. Accusing and spreading malicious messages about customers, and threatening to publish photos is highly insulting, egregious, and just simply embarrassing. We will not be returning, and I hope others see this review and are aware of staff at the Tap having the capability of engaging in voyeuristic behaviours, taking photos of their customers without permission and sending them to other pubs for the purpose of highlighting ‘rowdy’ behaviour or for other self satisfying...

I highly recommend the Derby Brewing Tap House to anyone looking for a great selection of craft beer and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The tap house has a wide range of beers on tap, from classic IPAs and stouts to more experimental and seasonal brews. There's something for everyone to enjoy, and the knowledgeable staff are always happy to help you choose the perfect beer to try.

In addition to the beer, the tap house also has a great food menu, with a variety of dishes to choose from, including burgers, pizzas, and salads. The food is always delicious and well-prepared, and it's the perfect accompaniment to a pint of beer.

The tap house itself is a great place to relax and socialise. It's spacious and airy, with a large outdoor seating area that's perfect for enjoying a beer on a sunny day. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and they create a really great atmosphere.

Overall, I highly recommend the Derby Brewing Tap House to anyone looking for a great place to enjoy craft beer and food in a relaxed and...

Really really very disappointed with the food and the time we had to wait for it! When ordering six meals we were told there were only 2 steaks left and fish and chips were not available, this was at the beginning of lunch and we were the only party eating. We then waited 45 mins for only one of the meals to come out, we then had to wait a further 10 mins for the remaining meals. The lamb burger was so small it was lost in the bap and some of the chips were raw inside. The grilled Holloumi sandwich was certainly not worth the £5.75 paid. The Holloumi was not cooked enough and there was barely any in the sandwich. The menu looks and sounds great and we were really looking forward to some great food, however we were really disappointed! Even though the food experience was terrible the pub itself is lovely inside and the bar staff were very polite and welcoming. Great for a drink absolutely...

Really good city center bar that manages to retain a local pub feeling. Excellent selection of alcoholic drinks both cask and keg including tap takeovers/brewery showcases, nice range of continental and craft bottles and cans. Food is provided by El Contador and is Mexican street food, it's also absolutely superb. The brisket tacos are probably the best I've ever had and you get 3 per portion which is really good value; however, between 5 and 9 on a Tuesday you get 2 portions for £10... which is outstanding value. The outside area is small but perfectly decent, the roof terrace is good but you can't smoke or vape on it. Staff are all really nice and friendly. The DBC app is a genius idea, all food and drinks are ordered and payed via it, it's fast, efficient and should probably be copied by other places.

Bit of a weird one, a pub that only serves Mexican food or a mexican restaurant that serves in a pub, either way the food was ok, well presented but definitely street food style, felt like I should have ordered more or a selection of dishes tapas style as i found the portion sizes a little small for me. The nachos were incredibly salty and the whole meal lacked any typical mexican dressings, no sour cream, guac or salsa. For anyone wanting some spice there was nothing on the menu with any, and the only hot sauce available barely added any heat so if your looking for spice take your own. Not sure I'd make a special trip to return but if I was drinking in the pub I'd probably grab some tacos as a snack again.

Former Derby brewing pub now under new ownership with a much wider selection of beers but no food. Back to historical name, never too busy it's well worth a boozy afternoon & when it's sunny there's a lovely roof top seating area & terrace. Plenty of seating & a well drilled bar team quickly clearing the bar, too. Recommended
