Let’s begin we had a lovely meal at the sea birds restaurant on Wednesday 6/9/23,we ate outside, the staff all very helpful, the woman behind the bar was fantastic,we was sat outside as my child is disabled and has a very large pram and can be noisy, but was perfect to be out the way enjoying a lovely meal. Returned today as it was such a lovely meal the previous day and we sat outside again. I went to order food just like the previous day to be told I wasn’t allowed certain things on the menu due to being outside, but this wasn’t a problem on Wednesday. I pointed out that bringing my disabled child inside was not a good idea as he doesn’t like to be in enclosed spaces and can be very difficult and noisy and bringing inside such a large pram this wasn’t a good idea either, but today it was. The man behind the bar said he was the manager and decided not to accommodate me in anyway whatsoever to the point he was arrogant and frankly abusive towards me and my wife,to be that well looked after the day before. To now being completely refused service and had to leave my wife and son sat outside whilst trying to get served, but the manager couldn’t cater to us having a disabled child and then told to leave is quite unbelievable and frankly disgusting. As a manager myself I put the needs of the people I serve at the top of my priorities and I call out the owners to put this guy in his place as to be treated brilliantly on Wednesday to then now being refused service on the next day after explaining my situation is quite unbelievable. I wanted to give seabirds 5 stars so much as the meal the day before was one of the best I have eaten in years. But how can I when we were treated in this manner never been so disgusted by one man’s behaviour in my life. Sadly I would love to eat in this pub again but frankly feel that I wouldn’t be welcomed walking In trying to order from him as we are on our honeymoon as-well with my family can only feel completely disappointed that there are people out there that will act in...
Read moreThis restaurant has gone down in my opinion. We have always enjoyed good food and a nice atmosphere over the years we have visited. We arrived and they couldn't find our booking someone had put it on another night but they managed to accommodate us. We Ordered our meal when starters arrived I ordered smoke salmon and prawns it arrived very basic smoke salmon prawns in top and some leaves and sauce in a paper medication pot at £ 7•95 just a little more time to make things look a little more appetising my husband's fish cakes again little over cooked in the deep fat fryer and again chilli sauce in paper med cups ramekins are not to expensive which would look better . My main course was just terrible I ordered Lamb mint suet pudding .My mashed potatoes were slapped on dry lumpy and obviously microwaved and left to go cold I didn't even think they were real but was assured they were. The Lamb Suet pudding was awful chewy and grizzly one of the worst meals I've ever been served. I complained and the lady who I think is the owner was nice she took off my main meal from the bill and explained it wasn't the chef but other people who work beneath him and of course yet again covid was also to blame. This I didn't expect because having eaten there over the years when we are in the area I feel it's lost its way staff wise. Its always been good food really well presented not slapped on a plate school dinner style. My husband's pie was very nice homemade chicken and mushroom pie but the veg rock hard cauliflower cabbage with cheese sauce very odd hard carrots and this was charged extra The prices are not cheap so you expect a good standard It really spoilt our night with such poor food. Come on Sea Birds get back to your standards of good food served ...
Read moreNestled by the coast, The Seabirds welcomed us warmly for lunch on a bustling Saturday afternoon, despite not having a reservation. The staff were friendly and attentive, setting the tone for a pleasant midday meal. The ambience was light and relaxed, with just the right touch of elegance, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely lunch by the sea in Flamborough.
Our visit began with a small setback as the side plates provided were unwashed, but this was quickly addressed by the attentive staff, who promptly replaced them without any fuss.
The food, however, truly shone. We started with garlic bread, perfectly flavorful and crisp. The fishcakes were another standout—crispy on the outside with a golden-brown crust that gave way to a tender, flaky interior. Each bite was packed with fresh, well-seasoned fish, and the contrast between the crunchy exterior and soft, delicate filling was expertly done, making them both satisfying and delicious.
The creamy mushroom dish, balanced beautifully with stilton, offered a rich, satisfying bite, while the falafel were seasoned to perfection, each bite bursting with flavor.
The seafood platter stole the show, with impeccably fresh fish and prawns, a light, non-greasy haddock, and smoked salmon that was nothing short of excellent.
For a lunch outing, The Seabirds delivered great value, offering dishes that rival fine dining in both presentation and taste. Despite the small hiccup at the start, the food and service made for a memorable afternoon meal. Highly recommended for those looking to indulge in fresh, flavorful...
