This was our first visit to the Swan and I must say if I was ever in the area again I would not hesitate popping in again. We were staying nearby by and so looking for nice places to eat in the area. When we read about the fact they serve American style food I have to say this really appealed. So on the Tuesday morning we made contact and a table was booked for that evening. The pub is set at the beginning of the high street on the left as you turn off the A355. When we arrived we found there was a friendly local welcome waiting for us. We sanitized our hands before being escorted to our table in the front part of the restaurant. I don't know how many tables they had in this area but the one's left were very well spaced out and they had screens up in between. Personally I was glad once again to see the staff without face shields or masks this really needs to catch on. It was also great to see the place very busy on a Tuesday evening with everyone supporting the hospitality industry and the #EATOUTTOHELPOUT scheme. We ordered a drink while we looked at the lip smacking menu. This consisted of burgers , wings , mac & cheese , sides , salads , nachos , sandwiches and of course desserts.
We decided to start with some Mozzarella Logs with a chilli jam and half a dozen Buffalo Wings. These were both amazing and you would have to go a long way to find anything better.
Now it was burger time and these were absolutely delicious. The Texan burger had a Pretzel Bun , bbq & ranch sauces , cheese , bacon and an onion ring. The Beautiful South burger is definitely one of the best I've had the pleasure of eating. A Brioche Bun filled with a fantastic piece of Buttermilk Fried Chicken , smoked cheese , hash brown , chilli jam & jalapeños. With this I had some amazing sweet potato fries. We accompanied these with the absolute heavenly Buffalo Mac & Cheese.
Now it was time for dessert and there was no disappointed here either as I enjoyed a truly delicious Oreo Sundae with oreo & vanilla ice cream , oreo biscuits & chocolate sauce. This was a fantastic way to round of the evening.
This was a fantastic first visit to the Swan and I would love to return some day. I would highly recommend a visit here especially if your a fan of American style food something as I said you would find it hard to beat once you've been here. I would also like to say thank you to Gina and all the team for looking after us and making us feel so welcome.

Read moreThe bouncers at this pub seem to let it down every time. My friend got told as we walked in that if she coughs inside, she’ll be kicked out. She didn’t have covid, just a tickly cough. She coughed at the bar and we were then kicked out and told we’re barred for standing up for ourselves. I have video evidence of this. The new female manager is also incredibly rude to customers and disrespectful. Some nice bar staff but one rude brunette female. A few boys came by just as we were kicked out and they were then not allowed in because they were talking to us outside.
Edit in response as I can’t reply. The fact that you have lied about multiple things here shows you know you were in the wrong. To make up that someone was racially and physically abusive is a crazy thing to do, but I am also not surprised after seeing your behaviour and attitude on Saturday. No one ever said my friend was on antibiotics - so that’s another lie there from you. She hadn’t fallen over, so another lie. If your bouncers and staff are rude, you can expect customers to stand up for themselves and ultimately be rude back. Don’t come on here and lie in an attempt to make yourself look better to other people reading...
Read moreThis place is fantastic. It has the looks and feel of what you would expect of a local pub to be. Here you will find good food, amazing burgers, great staff, decent prices.
The Swan is family friendly and when the weather permits (yeah, it sometimes does), there is a decent sized beer garden that is safe for kids to run around while you kick back and enjoy one of the many beverages this place has to offer. Of course, you don't need to have kids to relax at The Swan; you can just hangout with friends and play some of the available board games or pick up a good read from the book shelf and chill out, or even just have a great conversation with true locals.
The pub broadcast sporting events (when they are worth watching) and has live bands on Thursdays (some are good, some are ... meh).
Pets are aloud in doors, but make sure they behave so that everyone, especially you, can enjoy a nice time at The Swan ;-)
Oh, one more thing. The celling is low, so mind your head if you're tall. You would not want to be knocked out before you get to...
