Went for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. Not many dining in but take away section looked busy. Decent sized car park but bays not marked out and no designated disabled bays. Easy access into the building. No steps or anything to hinder those with mobility problems. Once inside there is a counter where you are asked to wait to be seated. It’s also where you pay on your way out. As it wasn’t that busy we had plenty of options on where to sit. Very light and airy but views from the large windows are nothing too admire. I had already decided to go for the Trawlerman Whale and chips. This was £18.95 and comes with a pot of tea or coffee. My brother spotted one of the specials. Haddock, chips and mushy peas and a pot of tea and coffee was £10.35 for over 60s. A few minutes after placing my order our server came back to say they didn’t have the haddock and was it ok to serve me cod. I had no problem with this. Taste wise my cod and chips were very nice. The chips in particular were excellent but I have to admit I was disappointed with the size of my fish. It was described as a ‘giant’ fillet and not for the ‘faint hearted.’ I though it was very thin and certainly not what I expected. Based on the description I thought I would have problems clearing my plate. I didn’t. Compared to what my brother had I don’t think my meal justified an extra £8.50. If I had ordered mushy peas it would have been even more expensive. My coffee was hot and strong and you would get several cups from the pot. However, it wasn’t the tastiest but then I’m not the best judge as I’m not a big coffee drinker. But my brother enjoyed his pot of tea and was very happy with his meal, both in terms of quality and quantity. For what he got £10.35 seemed great value. In conclusion I had no issues with the quality of the food. My problem was the quantity. After my experience here I think there are other options offering better value on the menu. I would visit The Trawlerman again but would study the menu in a more detail before placing my order and go for one of...

From the beginning, it was clear that the Trawlerman was dedicated to making our event special. Their willingness to accommodate our needs was remarkable; it truly felt like nothing was too much trouble for them. They listened, advised, and tailored their service to fit our wedding perfectly, ensuring that every detail was covered.

The day of the event, we were blown away by the efficiency and quality of their service. Despite the challenge of serving a large group and the distance involved, the delivery of the food was nothing short of fantastic. Everything arrived at once, and to our delight, the food was still warm, allowing our guests to enjoy their meals as if they were served right out of the fryer.

The fish and chips themselves were a hit, with many guests commenting on the perfect crispiness of the batter and the delicious, flaky fish inside. It was a comfort food feast that added a wonderfully relaxed yet sophisticated vibe to the wedding atmosphere.

The Trawlerman Fish and Chip restaurant proved to be an excellent choice for our daughter's wedding. Their commitment to quality, combined with their exceptional service, made our special day even more memorable. For anyone looking to add a touch of warmth and nostalgia to their event with some of the best fish and chips around, we can't recommend the Trawlerman enough. Their team showed us that they could handle any challenge with grace and professionalism, making our celebration a...

My original review have deleted think it's more important for celiac awareness who have to avoid gluten ordered fish and chips twice and one curry sauce curry sauce came out on the gluten-free meal luckily I know the difference otherwise I could have eaten the gluten-free and my wife would have eaten mine which wouldn't be good for her also bread was given to her which isn't gluten-free. Which if I see cross-contamination makes me think about what utensils are being used to keep cross-contamination separated this is something I couldn't see celiac people be aware. My last review got a reply from the owner saying I'm an ex-employee with a massive chip on my shoulder move on bob . yes I was only worked there for around two months and left on good terms I have no reason to give bad reviews it's...

Lovely fresh hot food. Real shame that the restaurant/toilets weren't clean. Could really do with a good cleaner, Big cob webs in both restaurant & toilets, dirty floors, curtains in the toilets look disgusting & dirty, bathroom is like a truck stop, considering it's a "food" restaurant & the toilet area should also be kept clean. It is part of the takeaway & restaurant so, therefore, should be as clean as the rest (which is an understatement), such as shame as food & service was spot-on. But when ya asked to review the whole restaurant, so be it. Forgot to take a photo of the toilet curtains, but I'm sure people can see for themselves

I ordered a chicken burger with chips , total price £5.15 on the menu it said the burgers came with salad , which is what you'd expect with a burger , as you can see in the picture there was no salad and at £2.90 , I've recieved and eaten better at McDonald's . The chips were not the nicest I've had either, they left an after taste. The meal came in a really nice cardboard box , obviously good for recycling but the chips and burger were cold by the time I arrived home and I only live 5 minutes from here . On the plus side the staff were really nice and polite. Really sorry but I won't be returning or recommending the Trawlerman.
