Zolsha Crosshills — Restaurant in England

Our experience was appalling due to the terrible service . 1, Had to remove our own plates from our table for our main course to be served and glasses. 2, Three out of six plates for our mains were dirty and had to ask for clean ones. 3, Asked for extra mango chutney for our pickle tray and they said they would bring some but never did. 4, Asked for napkins no one brought them and had to go to the bar to get them. 5, Asked for a round of drinks and some water, had to remind them about the drinks before they brought them without the water!. 6, We were not offered drinks (except for when we first sat down) or asked if everything was ok and had to ask for anything we wanted. 7, One of the sides plate was dirty and a glass (I didn’t report number 7 to staff as was at the start of the meal and I understand sometimes that some things can be missed and it takes a lot for me to complain). They brought the bill to the table as we put our coats on and I told the waiter that I would come to the bar as I firstly didn’t want to discuss the problems that had occurred in front of other diners and spoil their meals and secondly to respect the restaurant. I spoke to 2 members of staff at the bar and explained all the issues. I was answered WITHOUT any apologies and was told that they were short staffed and that they deserve a holiday too (it was New Years Day), that their “white English” staff had not come into work which I felt had racist tones towards me as the race and ethnicity of someone should not even need discussion when I’m complaining about the service of staff who served me. One of the men who said he was named Alan Ahmed (when I asked for his name) was extremely rude saying that the issues were not really anything to complain about and I was being picky. We had spent just over £230 and there resolution after I told them I was unhappy was to knock approximately £10 off the bill. We have ordered online from this restaurant approximately twice a month for over a year probably nearer two and as a special treat decided to go to the restaurant. This will never happen again! The staff who dealt with me at the bar were extremely rude and need some serious customer service training and to learn acknowledge customers and apologise for their service and not try to excuse it. They have lost our customer through their lack of service and their inability to provide me with an apology. The chef deserves recognition for his food as it was beautiful however I will never even order online again...

The main course was great, but everything else was disappointing. The restaurant was so hot that a few of us were left feeling unwell. Service times were awful despite the restaurant being half full, with a single bottle of cider (no glass or ice, just the bottle straight from the fridge) taking fifteen minutes to arrive. I had to ask three times for a glass of water - that took over 45 minutes.

The naan tasted like undercooked pancakes, with neither the garlic or cheese and onion having any added flavour that we could tell. When I pointed this out, the waiter first affirmed that I definitely had the right naan without close inspection. After checking with others at my table that backed me up, I mention it again shortly after. The waiter took my naan, held it open, and pointed at the minimal amount of cheese inside, before dumping it back on my plate, rather than offering to help or replace.

And to top it off, when noticing that my plate was dirty, the waiter rubbed his hands on it to wipe off the food. He gave me a new plate upon noticing my surprised face.

Overall, it was the lacklustre service that let this place down. My tasty main course was, if not a generous portion, still a tasty one, but I don't plan...

Food is good however the table service( and for that matter the delivery and collection) are abysmal. Last time we ate at the restaurant were stuck on table that had no waiter allocated. None of our food arrived in correct order with breads brunh served up 10 minutes before any main courses which also arrived in drinks and drabsIn addition when we eventually left, rather than receiving an apology for the non existent service, we were accused of trying to leave without paying the bill( we had paid!) . Have waited over 2hrs for a delivery despite being told it would be 45 mins. The same applied to collection. Was told it would be ready for collection 45 minutes after order placed only to have to wait in restaurant for another 50 minutes before I was given my food. Living locally I was prepared to give Zolsha another chance. They have had two additional and failed miserably. I shall not...
