First time at the Watchmakers and it didn't disappoint.

Perfectly positioned, nestled in the Victorian architecture with its vibrant community, a stone's throw from Hive station and a short walk from Hove seafront, The Watchmakers doesn't disappoint.

On a Thursday night in early October we were given a very warm welcome by Rick, one of the co-owners, backed up by Luciano and the team who really knew their stuff and grafted all evening.

The place was buzzing inside and out, with a lovely relaxed vibe which, along with and the decor, was classic micropub. No music, no gimmicks - except a unique take on the Budweiser sign - the place, its clientele and its beer did all the taking.

In the micropub tradition, The Watchmakers is unashamedly cask-led, gravity-fed and in cracking condition, with most of its offerings coming from Sussex breweries as well as some of Rick's own creations, brewed onsite on a 2bbl kit.

Lovers of keg are catered for as well, with up to 5 lines available.

We didn't have any food but the pizza from the local place - delivery, with order-from-the-table - looked fantastic, as did the monster, sharing bag of pork scratchings from Brighton Sausage Co.

It's easy to see why The Watchmakers is celebrating its 10th birthday (with a commitment to another 10) and has once again been awarded Brighton & South Downs CAMRA pub...

Best pub We've been to!

The Watchmakers arms is our local and has been for the last few years. Whilst we aren't the most regular drinkers, whenever we do fancy one, this is the spot we always go to.

We recently had a fantastic booking here with some friends, and T.W.A was exceptional and highly accommodating (As always).

The staff / owners are simply a joy, always have a smile on and happy to help! The beers are always so incredible, and for being in the center of Hove, they are unbelievably competitive. There are many, many Green King / other chains close by where the price is significantly higher, I can't believe how cheap the beer is for the quality you get here.

The atmosphere of the pub is always perfect, overall we can't recommend this pub highly enough!!

A huge thanks to Ruth, Rick, Luciano -...

Lovely little 'real' pub with a smallish but excellent range of ales and ciders plus some wines - they also do pizzas though I'm yet to try them. Used to come here few years ago when it first opened and on returning after a long time still seems just as good and well run which is a relief. It's very conveniently located for Hove station and the number 7 bus which means getting to it and from it is easy (less easy after a few ciders though I found). Excellent atmosphere and service as well - bear in mind it's popular so gets busy and because of its size not always easy to get a seat depending on the time. Highly recommended.

I did later on try the pizza - it was...

We visited The Watchmakers Arms on Saturday Night. Mulled cider was great so full of flavour and warming when it was -2 outside. Great decoration throughout and also people playing boardgames inside. Very cosy and relaxed. Even the toilet had its own character and was well decorated. The only drawback for me was CARD ONLY :-( again another business that will loose a star for not accepting cash. Sadly we won't visit again die to card only policy 🌟 But if you are OK with this it really is a great little bar.
