I recently Cafe Elka on a weekday, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the beautiful interior décor, which created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were equally welcoming, with friendly smiles and prompt service that set the tone for a pleasant visit.

I ordered a latte and French toast, and I was impressed by how quickly they arrived—both within 10 minutes. When the French toast was placed before me, I was truly amazed by its presentation. It was almost too beautiful to eat! The dish was adorned with fresh, sweet strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries, all of excellent quality. The caramelised banana was a delightful surprise, with a thin layer of burnt sugar that added a tasty crunch.

The French toast itself was perfectly cooked with subtle hints of cinnamon, which elevated the flavor without overpowering it. The sides were just as impressive, with creamy mascarpone, rich dulce de leche, and even the most beautiful edible flowers that added an extra touch of elegance to the dish.

To top it off, the latte was smooth and served hot, complementing the meal perfectly.

All in all, I had a lovely experience at this café and can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Thank you so much for a...

We've been to Elka a few times and until today had enjoyed it and thought it a welcome addition to blatchington road. On prior occasions the manager/owner was there which may have something to do with it. We went as a family of 4, with 2 young children, and had to wait an hour to be served food, which is way too long for a cafe. We chased it up a couple of times and during this time only two other tables were served, which suggests there weren't enough people working in the kitchen. The kids had the pancakes, which when ordering, the staff had offered to split into two plates, which didn't happen. My husband and I had the shakshuka but it was served with only one v small piece of toast, which definitely wasn't enough for the amount of shakshuka (and at the price of ÂŁ12). We asked for another portion of toast which never came. When we queried it the person working just said 'i did ask for it' but clearly hadn't chased it up, or gone and made it herself. It doesn't take a chef to make a piece of toast! Overall a v disappointing experience. We spent over ÂŁ50 on 3 brunch dishes, waited over an hour for the food, and then were ignored when we requested an extra piece of toast. Sadly we won't be...

I wasn’t really going to leave a review but the shakshuka I ordered a couple weeks ago really left a mark. Not in a good way. The girls were nice and welcoming however when I went to order a shakshuka (incredibly hard to mess up) it arrived and it left absolutely everything to be desired. The feta was the only nice part about it. The sausage I payed a significant amount extra for was lazy and pretty flavourless. The shakshuka was
. Just heated TINNED chopped tomatoes with the odd pepper in it. UNSEASONED. You could literally taste the flavour of just a raw tin of chopped tomatoes. so expensive aswell I took one bite and immediately I was so disappointed and really struggled to finish it in front of my wide eyed boyfriend who has payed and taken me out for a treat. I can’t believe that for this price I’m being served tinned chopped tomatoes in a fancy pan. It’s literally just laziness, whoever is in charge of the menu and dishes needs to be given a talking to. It was so disappointing and even though it was so long ago it genuinely has left a mark on me as food is something to be taken pride in and perfected over time. Not trying to be a Karen but I just thought...

B'S HONEST REVIEW ♡ The Sweetest little cafe on a main street in hove ♡ Cafe Elka has to be one of the nicest cafes I have been to specifically In hove , you are greeted with a warm welcome to what seems like a family owned business . The decor in the cafe is absolutely beautiful , flours and the gold accents to thr beautifully placed flowers in the green glass bottles ( im a girl who really appreciates appearance ) ! Food ♡ there is a verity of drinks that is offered , I have a lovely chai latte to warm me up on a cold winters morning & displayed at the till is a selection is baked foods ( cakes, pastry & muffins) . The menu is small but beautifully thought out to please everyone of different taste buds. I had a chilli jam & halloumi wrap with a side salad . Overall 5/5

During our trip to london we decided to visit brighton as well. After walking around for a bit and exploring the area we came arcross this place, where we sat down to eat and drink something before we continued our exploration. The food here is very good and not expensive at all. (I loved the smoothies they had to offer😉). The owner and staff were very nice and gave us free water with our food. would really recommend this place if your looking to get a healthy and filling lunch or just want to drink something. They have great options for vegetarians as well!
