Tilia — Restaurant in England

I came here with my partner to unwind after a busy weekend performing, it was an absolutely perfect place for it, located at the top of station street in Cockermouth. We got there and the service was great, we were sat down and asked for our drinks order fast. The restaurant is a small but spacious, cosy room that has a nice homely atmosphere to it. We had starters and a main, which to be honest did take a bit of time to come which is the only reason I gave 4/5 on service. The food was ABSOLUTELY UNREAL!! seriously one of my favourite dishes I’ve had for years. I had the tomato penne pasta, my partner had chicken roast. Both us of loved it and are looking forward to the next visit. Price was about standard for a mid-high range meal in west Cumbria. I think I paid about £70 with drinks and food so was not bad at all in my opinion and...

We were working away from home and starving. Came across 'TILIA' by accident. I have coeliac so eating out ....even though its easier these days.....is often a challenge. The staff didn't have t ask the chef what I could eat. They have a separate Gf menu. The staff were fantastic. Very welcoming and friendly and chatty. The food was amazing. We hired the whole of Tilia out for a surprise 40th birthday party, Tom the manager was fantastic in helping organise the party and full of ideas for food options.
