Memorial Gardens — Attraction in Cockermouth

Very quiet today with just a couple of dog walkers in the Gardens. Plenty of sunshine and the river flowing close by meant that the gardens were terrific to be in. Only blemish was the play area where a number of local secondary school pupils were using the swings - a couple of boys sitting and swinging on one of the swings - and social distancing was not in evidence at all as they hugged and play grappled with each other oblivious to parents +...

Beautiful gardens right on the river. Good parking availability. There is a small playground which is popular with little children. Lovely walk over the bridge into Cockermouth. Only down side was the waste bins needed emptying, they were full so people were leaving rubbish...

Pleasant open space central Cockermouth beside the River Derwent. Views across to The Trout Hotel and gardens. Shame the public toilets are not open - surely a Human Right! And why shut other town council toilets early evening??? They are coin operated so...
