Very rude bar lady- seems unhinged. Definitely in the wrong job if you don’t like people.
Admittedly, I ate a packet of crisps not purchased from The Bush- it’s something I do regularly when I go out as I have a medical condition that leaves me allergic to most foods. When she told me off, I had finished eating them and apologised, I went to explain my condition but I wasn’t given the chance. I did think her tone was quite unreasonable, as we, a group of 12, had spent over £200 at the bar and I would have reimbursed for the inconvenience, if given the chance to explain. She later came over 30 minutes later with a raised voice “ have you got an eating condition love “ ( she must have been listening to my conversation as I had been telling someone I was sat with why I had my own snacks).
Before I was given the chance to respond, she randomly informed me she is a diabetic and knows all about conditions. I informed her she was causing a scene and that it was embarrassing and making me feel uncomfortable, once again not letting me explain myself. She then spluttered out we were “mocking her accent” which I think she was referring to someone asking her at the bar where her accent was from- then proceeded to tell us to “get out and if you write a trip advisor review I’ll be writing back”
It’s a shame in 2023, people with hidden disabilities are still being treat as though they do not matter and be subject to a scene of embarrassment in the middle of a bar. There are plenty of other bars in the area with lovely staff and accommodating facilities to go and spend your hard earned cash in - please do so.
In summary: I apologised for eating my snack and did not do so after I was initially asked not to. A lack of judgment from me for not asking as it is something I am so accustom too but by no means did it warrant the shaming, shouting and humiliating scene this awful lady caused.
Go on, write back your defence, there’s quite a few reviews about you, it can only go on so long until people don’t believe your responses. Best wishes and I hope you’re never in a situation you need help with...

Me and my friends (all aged 21) have been visiting the area as a last goodbye trip to our friend who is moving to the US. We were greeted by two lovely young barmen who ID’d us before serving us. We happily obliged and made friendly conversation. The blonde lady who works there came and rudely interrupted and barked at the other bartenders asking if they’d ID’d us already. She then returned and asked for my friends ID and then held it for around 10 minutes, all the while showing no kindness or any sort of friendliness to us, which you’d expect as a paying customer. She then demanded mine and the other girls ID which we, again, obliged. She then held these for further while, leaving us stood at the bar feeling embarrassed and humiliated by the treatment we had received, which the rest of the customers in the pub could witness. She then decided that because section 12 of our licenses did not match her own that they were not real (these numbers are related to restrictions placed upon you when driving and extra information about your licenses to so it is obvious they would have different numbers). She then told us she shouldn’t but would let us have the drinks we bought but no more, after threatening to ring the police.
So which is it, are our ID’s real or have you broken the law by serving someone you deem to...

The food is excellent, with generous portions and great value for money. The steak and ale pie is a standout, packed with flavour and perfectly cooked. There’s also a great selection of drinks, including well-kept cask ales and a variety of spirits and soft drinks It’s also dog-friendly, which is a big plus — water bowls and treats are available, making it a great stop for walkers and locals alike.
