Tuckers Takeaway Cheddar — Restaurant in England

Popped in for a sit-down meal on a Tuesday evening. The place was empty, and the music booming. Not long after being seated, we heard the staff saying about closing restaurant which made us feel a little uncomfortable and like a bit of an inconvenience to them. The service was quick, and the food was delivered swiftly. My wife's fish looked good, but my pie and chips were missing the mushy peas. It wasn't an issue, but I did feel as though I couldn't really ask, seeing as two other people who came in to sit and eat had just been turned away, being told to order from the takeaway window. They did look a little disgruntled as they watched us tucking in... The food was tasty and hot, but I felt the portions were lacking in size a little... but I did really enjoy my lemonade! We have 5 adults and 2 children, we did really wanted to have fish and chips for our lunch , except my son 7 years old, he didn't want it, he liked to have a pizza, so we had to take away pizza somewhere else , so he can have it while we have fish and chips . But one of the staff said that my son CAN NOT eat pizza in her shop , if my son want to eat pizza , we have to take away their fish and chips , then eat outside . I do understand if they have pizza in their menu but we didn't get it from them , then she can say it to us but they do not have it in their restaurant. We have another 5 people to spend money at their restaurant, we didn't mean to come there to borrow the place to eat pizza . What a ridiculous service...

The batter on the colossal fish was crispy and sensational. The fish was cooked to perfection, chunky and irresistible. The chunky chips had a delicious coating and were cooked perfectly and boy were they devoured after being dunked in the irresistible curry sauce 😋

The food sheikh very highly recommends you visit this delicious joint, especially if you are visiting cheddar gorge! 8.5/10 for portion size of the fish (would have scored higher had the chips portion been larger) the quality, taste and customer service was very satisfactory!!!
