Vivace Bistro — Restaurant in England

We live in Hessle so it was a Jo brained to try Vivace as it had only just recently opened. We arrived for our table on the evening of Valentines Day and were shown to our table in the main dining area upstairs. It was a small but very cosy area and reflected the region of Italy that their menus was based on very well. We opted for mains only and I chose a salmon pasta dish and my partner went for the Kiev calzone. Our waitress was very attentive and brought our drink order well before our main came so we had chance to look give the menu a thorough read. When our mains arrived you could tell they were fresh out the oven/pan as the steam from each dish filled the room. My pasta was exceptional, possibly one of the best I had and my partner’s pizza was next level - the dishes were filling enough to not need starters (as we surmised) but left enough of a gap for a sweet treat so we divulged in a piece of cheesecake of the day (which was berry) and I had my standard tiramisu which was to die for. Great first visit to this new pizzeria in Hessle. Service a little slow to start off waited 25mins to order drinks/food - they were quite busy for first weekend in January, but starters came quickly and pizzas are amazing. Definitely going back!

Update; our second visit last week (15th July 2023) was even better food and atmosphere wise but again service still slow - booked table for 4 at 7.30pm and it was 10.30pm before we left - had to sit outside 15min until table was ready which was okay as it had stopped raining! Had to ask twice for water, and the bill and one of the drinks as it was forgotten. Plenty of staff on but it was busy so be prepared to wait. Otherwise fantastic starters, main and desserts! Maybe go early or on a weeknight if you dont like a long wait.

Update; our latest visit 30th June 2024 and food still excellent and pleased to say service has improved - much speedier than ever before. Can't fault anything about this place. Love it! Our number one...

Visited as a group of 7 ladies to celebrate a friend's big birthday. The staff were amazingly friendly and attentive. Food was truly delicious. We ordered a selection of antipasti, breads and olives to share which were plentiful, well presented and very tasty. Main meals included pizzas and pasta dishes together with a good selection of seafood and steaks. Perfectly cooked and very well presented. We'd brought in a small birthday cake and staff were happy to bring it with candles lit, to the tables. An especially good service and great place. My only criticism would be that the noise levels get quite high when full and maybe some soft furnishings would help to dampen the sounds. Looking forward to...
