Wah Ying House — Restaurant in England

We have been ordering here now for almost three years maybe longer! All was fine we order the same thing which is a small order that comes to £13 the last three times have been terrible, I rang to explain this, explained I wanted to order tonight but didn’t want to waste my money or get ill again! But instead of offering a repeat customer, some kind of apology or discount I was told NO the girl on the phone was very polite, when she explained “very briefly “ to the owner my issue, she asked my address and said NO nothing more nothing less! So not only have they lost a good regular customer I am leaving this review!The noodles were off as were the mushrooms, another time the chicken left us on the toilet for two days afterwards. I cannot leave a review on big foodie where I used to order as they no longer use it! I’m quite disgusted how the owner dealt with this! If I was asking for all three meals to be refunded I’d understand but I wasnt! Nothing of the sort. Two more reviews will be left, as two others also got ill from their food! I was told I have to ring the evening I got the food, how if we were not ill to the next day!? I left notes on my next two orders after the first time but apparently they don’t see this which is shocking seeing as this is also allergy information! Very disappointing when I’ve never complained or had issues in the three plus years we have used them. Time to find a new takeaway! I will also be leaving my review on Just eat! So if you do get ill from their food please know they won’t help no matter how much of a returning/loyal customer you are unless of course you are physic and know you will be ill before becoming ill! Just received absolutely disgusting chicken balls. They are inedible. I phoned in and a very dopey man said hello? Then hung up before I could ask "is that wah ying house". I had to call back. He again just said "hello" as if I had rung him in his house. I had to ask if I was speaking with Wah Ying House. He said yes. I asked why he didn't say that when answering the phone. SILENCE! I went on to tell him about how I've worked all day without eating, and now have an inedible meal. SILENCE! Asked for a refund. SILENCE!. Asked can you hear and understand me? He said "yes". So I asked what he thought of what I just told him. SILENCE! I asked him if he would like me to write a review about this. SILENCE. Asked again if he was going to do anything about the inedible food I was sent. Asked him if the chicken balls are still in date and had they been in the freezer so long they had freezer burn, because they were chewy and tasted so bad. SILENCE! So I asked him if he was in charge and as a result is he the reason the food is so bad now, when it used to be so good. SILENCE. So I told him I'm leaving the review then.

I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM WAH YING HOUSE AGAIN! And they have been my main go to Chinese for 25 years!

Had chicken balls from Bamboo Garden the other day btw. And they were beautiful. Absolutely perfect with good quality chicken.

A recent takeaway I had delivered by Wah Ying using the foodhub platform was terrible. I'm saying that as someone who has ordered 100s of takeaways from this restaurant and generally have been very pleased with the quality but my last order which will likely be my last order even though I have used them for 15 years or more was appalling. The chips had changed from normal chips to horrible cheap french fries type chips and the rice was overcooked and lumped together it was so dry, it was like plastic. It was frankly rubbish and appalling for the price paid. I now have to find an alternative Chinese restaurant in Yeovil for my occasional takeaway treat. I'm still amazed at how awful the quality was and how it was still let out the door. I think it was ordered somewhere around the 4th to 6th of November 2024. Maybe temporary staff or maybe some other issue. A real shame. It was only a month or so before that the takeaway failed to turn up at a realistic time, it was really, really late but at least then the takeaway itself...
