Firstly my beer I ordered when delivered was accidentally dropped on the table and poured the entire drink across my lap. I accepted that as an accident. However, no free pint offered as it's replacement, I still had to pay. Then the food order, my partner ordered the "whole breast" chicken salad, what turned up was four mini chicken fillets on salad, certainly not what was on the menu. We decided enough is enough and asked for a refund, having not touched the food, they agreed to a refund, only to be 1) over charged 2) short refunded. They charged £4.20 for my bear I wore on my jeans, then £10 for the chicken salad and £13 for my burger, however on reflection, I was charged £4.20 for the beer I paid for straight away, the food should have been £23 total, I paid £29 on card not realising they charged for our drinks on the food bill as well, even though I was told it's pay as you go. My beer was £4.20. meaning for simple water with lime slice in it they charged £1.80. for tap water with ice and a lime slice. If I could score negative stars here I would. Will 100% never be back nor ever recommend the place....
Read moreReally was not happy as went in here today we hadn't booked but this lovely couple who hadn't booked either were sitting on a table for 4 and kindly offered us to share their table which we did ! We then tried to order Sunday dinner and were told there wasn't enough meat as their cooking 4 different meats how can they say there would only be enough meat for people who have booked ! Do they know exactly what meat people are going to order I don't think so as they were taking orders from table so how could they not possibly spare 2 meat dinners they would have to have cooked enough meats to cover the situation they didn't preorder the food this day and age surely you don't turn customers away 2 meals to much trouble I don't understand their logic...
Read moreWe saw the White Hart was under new ownership and was offering Sunday lunch so we booked a table and visited today. Here's our thoughts:
The Welcome; VERY FRIENDLY, greeted by 2 staff.
We ordered a beef Sunday lunch and a vegetarian Sunday lunch. Both were PERFECT. Tasty, fresh, piping hot, lots of gravy AND cauliflower cheese added if requested (yes, it too, was PERFECT).
Dessert. We both had Eton Mess. We both thought it was, again, PERFECT.
Well done to the staff. They were really keen to make us feel Welcome.
Although we didn't bring any pets, we noticed another guest's dog was given a bowl of water to drink. Staff really want to make the experience a good as possible for guests.
Most enjoyable. We...
