Although there's a front door, it's possible to enter around the back if you drive into the car park through the on-street doorway (although there are limited spaces). This used to be a pub some time back and it's now been turned into a restaurant, so has a full bar.
I brought my mother and some friends there for her 80th birthday. The day prior I contacted them and they accepted a table decoration, card, cake and candles in advance. I'd made a mistake with the booking (reserving 8 rather than 6 places) which wasn't an issue, but seems a different table was decorated upon our arrival, something that was quickly rectified.
We didn't bother with a starter but opted for their poppadums and prawn crackers, which came with a sweet mango chutney, spicy red tomato chutney and some mint yoghurt.
The meals are a mixture of Nepalese, Chinese, Thai and English - the menu features lamb chops, Thai red curry, Chinese noodles etc - quite a good variety to suit different needs. For my main, I went for the Goan Lamb curry, which was rich and thick - I didn't find it hot, but sure some others may disagree. I'd ordered some of their steamed bread as an accompaniment to try it out, but found it a bit stodgy, so didn't partake in much of it. Those with the chicken noodles found it a bit spicy but my mother's vegetable noodles wasn't, so I guess the spices were in the chicken.
Service was excellent; they were very attentive, bringing out the cake with some pouring cream, and all sang her happy birthday!
The whole lunch was reasonably-priced - we paid less than 20/head. Great meal and good service, my mother enjoyed her birthday out and her friends had a great time - will happily return again if I'm...

Nestled in Frankwell, Shrewsbury, @yakandyetishrewsbury offers a vibrant atmosphere buzzing with lively chatter. We opted for a sharing feast, with small plates and main dishes arriving together.
⭐️4.5/5 Recommended👍🏻 Price 💸💸/💸
Small Plates: • Minted Lamb: Delivered a zingy punch of fresh mint, though not the best-looking dish. • Beef Rump Shapta: Famous Tibetan meat bites. • Garlic Tiger Prawn: A standout with fresh chili, garlic, and herbs. • Homemade Dumplings: A must-try, filled generously and served with seasoned tomato sauce and hot chili paste.
Main Dishes: • King Prawn Indo-Chinese Style Fried Noodles: Wok-fried with crunchy vegetables and soy sauce. • Goan Style Lamb Curry: Tender lamb in a mild, flavorful sauce. • Famous Chicken Butter Masala: Rich and creamy, as promised. • Chicken Fried Rice
Our verdict: The Asian fusion flavors were familiar yet uniquely combined in one place so would suit large party dining. Portions weren’t huge, but we left satisfied. At £35 per person with drinks, it was good value and the friendly service added to the overall positive experience. However, be aware that parking on site can be a challenge. If visiting during the day or early evening, the large sun terrace would be a lovely spot to enjoy your...

I don't want to praise this lovely place too much or I won't be able to get in next time 😉Great to see the breakfast service busy today. Attentive pleasant staff, great breakfast and outstanding value for an overnight stay and breakfast. Thanks again x
15/02/25 What a great find for an overnight stay. Stayed Saturday 15 February to attend a friend's birthday party at The Wheatsheaf Frankwell so perfect location. A short flat walk from the train station and perfect for a night out in Shrewsbury. Warm welcome and easy check in. Shown to my room and my bag carried upstairs for me 😊 My room was a single room, small but had absolutely everything I needed. Plenty of Tea and Coffee making supplies, Soap, Shower Gel and fluffy towels. The room was cosy and warm on arrival and overnight. The bed was comfortable and the room, bedding etc perfectly clean. Great value at £60. It was also quiet. I had the full English cooked breakfast which was freshly cooked with quality ingredients and fabulous value at £10.95 for breakfast, tea/coffee, toast with jam or marmalade, fresh fruit and orange juice included. I will definitely stay again. As a female staying alone I felt safe, secure and well...
