Moshan Island Grill/ Box Dinner — Restaurant in England

I’m placing this review based on an order I placed today on moshans website, when I called initially to say it hadn’t arrived 30 minutes after estimated delivery I was told it’d be with me in another 30 minutes tops. The food was apparently ready but just waiting to be delivered. I live ~ 15 minutes drive from the restaurant.

Another 40 minutes later I called back to be told it was still there - so either my food has been sat getting cold for 40 minutes or they lied about it being ready - more likely the latter as I could then hear the lady on the phone explain there was a delay printing off the order, then instead of apologising and offering some compensation I was told that “darling you need to understand that it’s a Friday and we’re busy” hence they can justify being over an hour and 15 minutes late - bearing in mind the other lady in the background could be heard saying she’d do the delivery only after I kicked off saying they’re taking the mick - chances are it would’ve been later still had I not called! I suggested they take fewer orders if unable to deliver in a reasonable time frame and was laughingly thanked & told to enjoy my evening.

Awful customer service. Food then came 90 minutes late, fried chicken was burnt over cooked and dry. Terrible shame as usually good food but unfortunately this establishment can’t handle cooking or being...

As a regular customer, both dining in and for home deliveries, the Goat Curry with Rice and Peas with Jerk Pork for starter and Macaroni Cheese as a side is a usual order for me and my friend. However, I always like to vary my choices when dining in.

On Saturday 04-Sept my Nephew, his two girls, and I ate there to celebrate her going to University and as usual, the food was amazing, and the staff very friendly and chatty.

We had mixed starters to share with the Trinidad Roti, Jamaican Patties and a couple of Jerk Porks and then I had the Brown Stew with Rice and Peas my Nephew had the Goat Curry with Rice and Peas and his daughters tried other dishes (cant remember) and we shared a Barbados Bake. Yes, we probably over ordered again, but it's so delicious, and there's always a container to take the rest home if you need to...

Needless to say will be going again and ordering for home delivery.

Our first visit to Moshan Island Grill was fab. The restaurant is above the takeaway and we received a warm welcome from the friendly, family team that run it. The decor is basic, but that's not the reason to eat here; the food is authentic Caribbean cooking - generous portions full of rich flavours and without a ridiculous price. Drinks, including cocktails, are also keenly priced - our party of 4 shared a couple of jugs of the rum punch, which I'd certainly recommend. A great evening, shared with friends in a warm and welcoming establishment; as it was one of the hottest evenings of the year, even the heat added to our Carribbean experience, but rain or shine, this is a lovely friendly venue, serving delicious...
