We ventured into Brackley on one of our weekend jaunts. The High Street is a quaint hark back to classic market towns with the modern just managing to sneak a glimpse in here and there.
Little Istanbul sits opposite the modern Costa and a run down burger joint with the Market Square between. All are framed by a large window that, from our seat towards the rear of the restaurant, appeared as a picture frame. The remainder of the interior is much as you might expect from a Turkish restaurant: simple tables and chairs, plain walls with posters and pictures of Turkey, a bar and small kitchen at the rear. Branded paper placemats were a nice touch. The only thing that dulled the edge a little was the music that couldn't decide if we were at a Turkish nightclub or an easy listening joint as it jarred betwix the two.
The service was prompt, polite and respectful. The Waiter who served us was efficient in a way that made us feel welcomed.
Our meals were simple, tasty and of the right size. Regular readers will know we prefer portions that leave us feeling satisfied and full rather than the "pile it on because quantity is better than quality". My starter (slivers of Turkish sausage served with a salad) was exceptionally tasty. For mains I chose the Chicken shish, served with rice and salad. Again, the portion was the right size and full of flavour. We ordered from the lunch menu, which set out a course meal from less than £10 a head.
We left having enjoyed a satisfying meal in a pleasant environment. If you find yourself passing through Brackley I suggest popping in for a reasonable,...
Read moreWe hadn’t eaten here before yesterday but will definitely be returning. The first thing that struck me was the cleanliness of the place. The wine glasses were 100% unblemished and clean with not a single water mark. Likewise the cutlery. The bottle of wine (Pinot Grigio) was super chilled and arrived in a timely manner. It was poured for us throughout our meal. We ordered food which took us a while because it’s a very comprehensive menu and were blown away by both the quality and quantity of it. Sadly we couldn’t eat it all so next time will bear this in mind. You don’t need side orders here!! We thought the service was excellent. We really liked the atmosphere. If I had to be picky I’d have liked a little bit more time between our starter and main course however there was a large party sitting behind us so understand that the kitchen possibly wanted our orders out before sorting our theirs. It wasn’t a problem. Coffee was served in the most gorgeous cups and came with Turkish Delight. Delicate and decadent. Thoroughly recommend this Restaurant. 10/10 from me (us). Sarah and Emma,...
Read moreBeen meaning to come here since it opened. I'm so glad I did. Though I went on a Saturday evening and the place was packed. I still got great service from the waiters and the food was top notch. The portion sizes are massive and are great value for money. It is worth noting that the quality of the meat is great, and they don't appear to skip on the quality of their ingredients. I went with 3 others and everyone came away raving about their food. I even finished the meal off with an amazing Turkish coffee. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the deserts as we were all far too full to have any. P.s. if you are a red wine fan we would highly recommend the Turkish bottle. They also do takeout as well and you can get anything...
