Dhansiri — Restaurant in Epsom and Ewell

Friendly staff - walked in to order. Waited about 20 mins and food was hot. All very promising.

However we ordered the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken and although smothered in a rich and delicious sauce the chicken was DRY and tough. Big chunks of chicken breast that had been cooked far too long. I use thigh if I make it at home and it is always tender. I've had better chicken from a ready meal version. I was so disappointed as this is my local and I had heard rave reviews. We had the lamb biriani too and it was ok - seriously nothing to rave about and not much lamb.

We also had a vegetable curry, which was very nice and the naan and poppadoms were good too. I wish I hadn't bothered with the meat dishes as these let our meal down.

On 31st August my husband and I ordered a takeaway. I can honestly say it was the worst Indian meal we have ever had. The Korma was overloaded with coconut but nothing else. The Baltic and Bhuna (both chicken) were undistinguable. The only flavour was watery tomatoes. There was absolutely no depth of flavour. In fact, there was no heat, no spice flavours. Due to the fact that we were visiting my son and had time constraints, there wasn't an opportunity to complain. Due to ill health (unrelated to the meal) and work commitments, this is the first opportunity I have had to write this review. Suffice to say that, when visiting again, we shall not be ordering from this...

Food never arrived, called up to ask about it and they said it will be there soon. Were quick to dismiss me and lied 3 times. very rude over the phone, will never order again, i then called back twice more after waiting about an hour for my food and each time they assured me that it was on its way, the restaurant is a 5 minute drive from where I live, and they did not apologise or offer anything as a gesture of apology at all, truly disgraceful and...
