Such a shame this pub has so much potential. We live down the road and have been there many many times purely down to the fact their chicken burger is very very good.. sadly that is where the service ends. We have been going there for 18 months hoping for things to change however from start to finish apart from eating this burger the whole experience is unwelcoming and awkward, and you feel it in the pub. You walk in and the bar manager doesn’t even look up to welcome you. Bearing in mind there’s 4 people on one table in the bar area. A simple hello, come in get a seat and someone will be with you soon would go a long way. We sat down and had to get menus ourselves, still not even being acknowledged, finally the waitress who I saw a previous review something stating she clearly doesn’t want to be there, we have been served by her many times and I have to agree, customer service goes such a long way, and in such a lovely family residential area it’s a must. Kids are clearly not welcome in this pub. Also… you are a pub, not a high end restaurant in London. You have options for dogs on your menu and nothing for children, in Epsom… if you don’t want children then actually request it and don’t make families feel ridiculously unwelcome. When the waitress finally arrived, we ordered, or attempted too, half of your items weren’t available, and some totally removed from your menu, bearing in mind your menu is brown printed paper, it’s very simple to re print these items you aren’t offering anymore. No offer for any alternative or trying to be accommodating. At this point, I would have walked out however we was starving and like I said your chicken burger is very good so we stayed. Ordered houmous and 2 chicken burgers and decided we would take the children to the cricketers after as yes there food isn’t up to your standards however there service is second to none and you couldn’t find friendlier more welcoming staff, that goes further than food. The bread took 20 mins.. for 4 bits of soggy baguette and dry houmous, the burgers were very good as usual however it’s not enough to earn more than 1 star. Your bar manager was constantly on the phone talking about your beer orders ridiculously loud which is unprofessional and very disturbing to our lunch, however this was better than when he spent 30 mins discussing the cons of the new Epsom social and how the pub owners get around paying tax with paying themselves little to claim less tax, not something I think they would appreciate being shouted around their pub. I’ve never had a good experience in here, never felt welcomed, it’s a real shame as it has so so much potential but the bar manager is rude and pretentious. Like I said, a simple hello and smile goes miles for families and actually anyone wanting a beer or bite to eat in a ā€œniceā€...

My partner and I had been recommended this place for food so we went ahead and booked for Father's Day. We paid the initial deposit and all seemed great for 3pm. Upon arrival we waited outside for our table to be ready, is in a nice little area so we didn't mind. Taken to our table and sat down. Moodily greeted by a girl who clearly didn't want to be there we ordered some drinks and looked at the Father's Day menu. Looking around us the roast looked amazing so we all decided to order one. When the girl came to taking our order she only then told us they were all out of roasts. They started service at 12 and we were there at 3 which is only half their full servicing hours. So we asked if we could get a steak and have the veg with it, we were told no because they were all out however they provided veg on other orders...for example the vegetarian option so we were a little perplexed. She then said we couldn't order off the main menu but could do if we sat outside...nothing enthralling on that menu either to be honest. But give them their due they advised we could if we saw something we wanted and remained inside. In the end 2 of us got the steak, 1 the vegetarian roast and 1 chicken and mushroom pie. Steaks tasted strange and 1 was not cooked to taste so by the time that returned we had all finished. Veggie option was OK but potatoes had clearly been under heat for hours if not days. Chicken pie was again OK but nothing to brag about. The manager did come over and remove both steaks off the bill but we couldn't believe that on a Sunday and for Father's day they couldn't make sure they had enough supply for a roast. They also should have advised us before we sat down they were either running low or out completely. Just a shame because it could have been a lovely experience. We won't be returning or...

We booked the table for 5 people at around 12:30, however we got there 10 minutes early and the staff had the table all ready for us, happy for us to take a seat. The restaurant was very clean and had lovely decorations around the place to make it look more homely like a fireplace and lovely light decorations. When we got the food, it was gorgeous and was perfectly cooked. I had a Sunday lamb shank for the roast, and the portion size was huge but brilliant. The Yorkshire pudding was so soft and delicious that I wanted more. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which was good, and they weren't rushing us with our food. When we wanted to pay, they were very happy to let us split the bill three ways, which was lovely

Now the negatives, sadly. First, there weren't many parking spaces available for the public, which was difficult. Secondly, because it was a freezing cold day, for some reason, they had the back door open, which was not good for all of us. Thirdly, where we were seated, there were huge windows that were letting sunlight through mostly blinding me as they didn't have any blinds or net curtains. Lastly, with the staff, they were quite slow with service, which was a bit disappointing as we were all extremely hungry.

Overall, I would definitely suggest this place for Sunday roast if you are ok with waiting a bit longer than normal...

I had a fantastic Sunday lunch at Coopers with my husband this past weekend. Our server, Gabby was absolutely fantastic. The kitchen was a bit swiped so we told we would need to wait for mains. So we ordered Olives and bread to snack on. Well I am so glad it was busy as otherwise I would not have ordered the Olives. I haven't had such good Olives in many years wow!!!!!! In the end our main meals didn't take too long and we enjoyed the sun and atmosphere of the courtyard. I had the seafood linguine which was delicious and fresh. Not creamy which was such a lovely change. My husband had the korma chicken which was also a real treat! I would 100% recommend coming to enjoy a meal at this fine establishment.

Visited this pub with a craving for some fish and chips after a small hike in the park, but they ran out at just after 2pm. I was disappointed. I ended up getting the double chicken burger instead, which was really good. For dessert i had the apple and berry crumble. It was ok. It didn't seem to have much apple init, as I mostly tasted berries and I would have preferred the ice cream on the side. The crumble on top was good though. The staff were nice and friendly. Nice pub to relax in after a walk in the area. I would visit again and hopefully arrive in time for the fish šŸ˜‰.

Lovely little pub with cask ales. Ordered salmon, very delicate taste, perfectly balanced by beetroot and whisky. Main: mixed Sunday roast. Extremely perfect, astonishing Yorkshire pudding, good choice of sides. Desert: apple crumble and salted caramel brownie. Delicious, apples with pinch of cinnamon, brownie with chocolate crumbles, both with nice company of delicious ice cream. Definitely coming back for more. Compliments to the chef.
