I’ve deleted my original review from 6 months ago as there’s been a change of ownership. Unfortunately the standards set by Will are no longer evident. My first visit was shortly after opening & too soon to judge.
On my second visit (05/07/2022) I found things hadn’t improved. My flat white barely contained any coffee. The dairy-free coffee & walnut cake was dense & had a soggy bottom, the ‘buttercream’ was vile & the sponge didn’t really taste of coffee & was stale. I’d visited on a Tuesday & the cake appeared to be leftover from the previous week. I wasn’t enamoured with the service either.
I didn’t get a chance to speak to the new owners as they were busy & I couldn’t catch their attention before I needed to leave. I’m genuinely disappointed because it’s a lovely place, plus it was mine & my sister’s favourite coffee shop & was the best...
Read moreWe love this place! Since Sarah and David have taken over the Neighbourhood Coffee Shop, the place has definitely improved. The focus is now on quality homemade goodies and community. The loose leaf tea is great and sourced locally, and the coffee is better than you would get from a high street chain. Great options for dietary requirements like alternative milk options and gluten-free produce. They offer afternoon teas, outside catering and community events. To top it all off, it's really good value as well as good quality. We really look forward to our...

I was immediately drawn to its clean modern interior featuring a gallery wall of local paint, print, and photography artists and an entire wall of books and records for sale and perusal. Fun, but unobtrusive music and a great latte made this a wonderful break in the day to enjoy reading for a while.
The owner, I believe his name is Will, was friendly and engaging and has very obviously put a lot of thought and love into the place. It's to sort of cafe you'd expect to find in a city centre and I am thrilled it's so close to home, I look forward to...
