Thai Legend — Restaurant in Erewash

The decor is old & traditional with some very ornate furniture. The tables have beautiful carvings under glass. The food is first class. I have eaten at many Thai restaurants and this one is one of the best. The Thai green curry with duck is hands down one of the best meals I have ever eaten, loads of duck, juicy and slightly crispy in parts with skin on. The vegetables and other ingredients all extremely fresh and crunchy. The coconut milk sauce was sublime with lots of ginger and other fresh seasoning. Tom Yum soup for starters was freshly prepared and extremely tasty and satisfying. I have called here twice now when travelling along the M1 and will be stopping here again at any given chance. Absolutely superb. Free parking at the rear is an added bonus. My only criticism is the after meal service was somewhat slow and unattentive but this wasn't a big issue for us as we weren't in...

Why had I not discovered this restaurant before? This little gem is hidden in a row of shops almost opposite a large Aldi. It's quite small but very atmospheric. The tables and chairs are works of art. It obviously has a good TakeAway trade too. I was excited to see Tom Yum soup on the menu, we had the chicken version, and it was delicious but it was very hot in both senses of the word. You can request the same but with a lesser heat. This was an adventure in taste and we selected Kaeng Dang Prawn, Massaman Beef and Khaow Suey all of which were delicious. All were washed down with Singha Beer. Tasty food, but terrible takeaway delivery service. It took them 2 and a half hours to deliver our order after being told it would take an hour (I had to phone them again to chase it up), then when it finally arrived we found (after the delivery driver had left) that they had delivered someone else's very different and much cheaper order to us. As a pescatarian there was not much that I could eat (though my wife is not, so was able to enjoy all of it) but we couldn't be bothered to wait yet another hour for them to redo our order.
