The Solicitors Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Erewash

Very disappointed night last night. Firstly - service is shocking. Told to sit down as we came in, then it took another 15 minutes to get our order taken, 5-6 members of staff about around the bar but no one bothering to come over and then an extra 15 mins for drinks to come to us. Then took an extra 5 minutes for us to get a food menu. Just in this time alone, 2 other couples came in and left within this time due to the wait and poor service.

The menu and selection is great, for both drinks and food so we was excited about this. However, there was then over 5 main items crossed off the menu.

Drinks were nice but just took so long. One of our drinks was just a bottle of beer so just needed the cap taken off so no reason for delay.

Food was not great at all, bread board with tiny tiny slices of bread for 2 of us. Tapas dishes that came out one by one (i know this how tapas works but not a super long wait between each is not ideal) the chicken was chewy and not very well cooked.

Sad as the menu has so much potential but service especially and the dishes...

Been wanting to try this place, we headed in for drinks last night. Atmosphere is nice and I would certainly have considered eating there. After 10 minutes waiting to be served we got up and asked if we were supposed to order at the bar directly, the waitress who had been stood at the bar then came straight over and took our order, never asked if we wanted food or offered a menu, there wasn’t a food menu on the table so I assumed they were not serving food. It took so long for our drinks to arrive that we actually had our coats on ready to leave. The cocktail itself was poorly made, basically lime juice and ice with a splash of vodka. Ice wasn’t crushed and the presentation of the drink wasn’t anything special, I can prepare better at home. I couldn’t drink it in the end and it’s a common cocktail that I have had many times before. For a new business, first impressions are everything. We spent the evening at The Solicitors last night. The atmosphere was great, everyone seemed to be having a lovely evening. The staff were brilliant, very hard working yet professional and attentive. There is a range of cocktails from classics to their own signature selection.
