If you’re a fan of perfectly grilled kebabs, this place is a must-visit. From the moment I walked in, the aroma of sizzling meat and spices hit me in the best way. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and quick service. I tried the mixed grill platter, which came with a generous portion of lamb shish, chicken shish, adana kebab, and doner, all cooked to perfection. The meats were juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The rice was fluffy, and the fresh salad and warm flatbread were the perfect accompaniments. What really stood out was the quality of the ingredients and the balance of spices. You could tell everything was freshly made. Even the garlic sauce and chili sauce were full of flavor and clearly homemade. Prices were reasonable for the portion sizes, and I left feeling completely satisfied. I’ll definitely be back, next time I might try the iskender or the lamb ribs.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re looking for an authentic, traditional Turkish experience, Efes Grill in Exeter is an absolute gem! The hospitality is unmatched – from the moment you walk in, you’re treated like family. The staff are incredibly warm and attentive, making sure every part of your visit is perfect. After our delicious meal, we were pleasantly surprised with a refreshing slice of watermelon 🍉 and complimentary water served alongside a rich, aromatic Turkish coffee – a thoughtful touch that really made the experience special. The food was bursting with flavour and clearly made with love and tradition. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone wanting to enjoy genuine Turkish cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. Truly a 5-star

Very popular Turkish restaurant, and you can see why. Proper chicken and lamb donner/shawarma and great food in general! You get free bread with a tzatziki and some kind of tomatoe chilli dip (not that spicy, just a kick) included. But I ordered a lahmacun as a starter which was a nice addition to my main meal (the mixed shish) and I was full. My 2 friends ordered a Efes Special for 2 people and even they couldn't finish it (tooked the rest home, don't waste food). Best end the meal with a nice Turkish tea or coffee. Customer service is great, hard working, happy, and can give a joke haha. Been here twice once on my own and the other with friends. We all enjoyed it here. Will come again.

I've been few times and to me it's the best fast food place in town. However, I had a horrible experience last night and I'm really sad to leave this review, but it has to be done. I am prone to diabetes and last night on my way to the place I had a really bad hypoglycemia. I asked my friend to order and went inside and sat at a table feeling really unwell. They are usually very quick so I was being patient. Also, it wasn't a busy spell, so I was expecting to be served in maximum 10 minutes. Few minutes passed and my condition was getting worse. I walked to my friend and told her I'll take some coke because I was really dizzy, cold and shaky. I asked one of the employees to be quick and told him I had a health problem. He gave me the coke, but didn't show any empathy to my condition. I went back at the table and waited. Few minutes passed and my friend came to me to say that they don't let us have the chicken boxes in our table, because they are supposed to be a takeaway dish. I was shocked and extremely unwell. She said she asked them to grill something quick for the table to gain some strength. Few minutes passed again, but still nothing. I remembered my friend had gone to the supermarket before to buy some nuts, so I opened her bag and basically stole her nuts and started to eat. One of the employees got offended and asked me if everything was okay and said I'm waiting to be served and I'm extremely unwell and hungry. Almost half an hour later altogether still we weren't served, so my friend started an argument with an employee stating that I was feeling unwell. I even told him to give me some bread, anything to get going. He started shouting at us, saying we shouldn't have left our dinner the last moment and that even super markets serve food, so I should have gone there. I told many times I was suffering from a hypoglycemic episode and it's something that you cannot predict, it just happens. My kind request to the owner of the place, train and educate your staff about health problems and good manners. I am going to miss the food there, but you'll never see me again. I could have had a stroke, or fainted or even died, but you showed no manners, no education and no empathy. It's sad, but...

We spent around £90.00, and ordered Babaganus, Sigara Boregi, Grill Sucuk, Lamb Liver pan fried, Mix Grill, Lamb Ribs, Chicken Beyti Sarma, Kids chicken nuggets and drinks. The foods were excellent. The only reason to give a one star rating is the unbelievably unnecessary bad behavior by the waiter. I phoned beforehand to book a large table for five. Since we have been there before and I knew this place, I was very specific which table we preferred. We were confirmed over phone that we would be given that table. However, to our surprise, we were given a table that was not promised to us. It was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was quiet. Since the table we wanted was unoccupied, I politely asked a waiter if he could change our table to the one that was promised. He denied the request saying "if we have a larger group coming, where I will arrange for them"! That "if" in his argument was just meaningless and unnecessary as that table was not reserved by any one yet then and also there was another large table (next to the one we requested) completely unoccupied. However, after I insisted he finally kept preparing the table we wanted while still mumbling! When I asked his colleague that I wanted to speak to the manager, I was told that the manager was not available and he indicated that it would be useless to complain because he is the best mate to the manager! When my friends arrived, they straight wanted to walk out after hearing this and preferred to go to Zukis (the restaurant next to this) where we have had good experiences in the past and offers similar Turkish menu. However, I preferred to stay as the child was being late for her dinner. Funnily enough, by the time we were leaving the other large table was still unoccupied and that "if" statement by the water had not come to be true. We finished the good foods with an unpalatable experience and certainly will not be going back there where ganged-up customer service is exercised over proper...

Wow for all the wrong reasons

Been looking forward to an efes takeaway for sooooo long but how disappointing

Purchased the efes special for 1-2 & portion of chips... Last year's price £28 today paid £44.50 + delivery + service charge = £48. 98 an increase in over 50%

What we received was nothing short of poor... Poor quality Poor quantity Poor taste

The last time I ordered this the chips were amazing, perfectly cooked spiced and heaps of them - this time overcooked tasteless and just enough for 1 The bread last time - 2 pieces were soft warm and fluffy, this time only 1 which was cold hard and difficult to digest the meat (plenty of it) oozing with taste & juices which made the rice and couscous so so tasty this time everthing was so overcooked the rice and couscous tastes like boring rice and couscous and so much of it that it filled 2/3rds of the container

The meat Consisted of 8 chicken wings, 2 small bite sized pieces of steak, 4 small pieces of chicken (less than one breast in total) a kofta, and a scattering of lamb kebab meat.

All the meat was overcooked and dry

The salad hardly worth mentioning - a bit of lettuce, 3 half cherry Tomatoes and a single green pepper The sauces around a tablespoon each.

Last time was left raving about Efes this time left raging!!

The last time I left a rave review so this time only fair I leave a scathing review

Yes prices have gone up and yes the cost of living is hurting so now any take out is a treat unfortunately after this we won't be returning to Efes. Honestly could have got better from a kebab van (no disrespect to kebab vans) and for...
