I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Exeter Royal Albert Memorial Museum and I must say, it was truly a fantastic experience! The museum is one of the grandest things to see in Exeter, with its Victorian building and vast collection of over 1,000 items. The museum is very well maintained, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, providing expert insights on the exhibits. From the natural history and anthropology displays to the fine art and ceramics collections, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The museum also features a cafe, offering a range of delicious food and drink options, perfect for taking a break and relaxing during your visit. But what really sets this museum apart is the incredible Victorian building that it is housed in. The architecture is truly stunning, with intricate details and grand features that transport you back in time. It's no wonder that some say the building has a ghost - the old lady in a white dress - adding an extra layer of intrigue and mystery to the experience. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Exeter Royal Albert Memorial Museum to anyone in the area. It's an experience that should not be missed, and is sure to be enjoyed by visitors of all ages and interests. So why wait? This is a well worth visit to make. It's easy to find. Especially if you travel by train to Exeter St David's and walk into the city centre. As you pass it on your way. The museum has plenty of displays to cater for all interests. The entry is FREE ADMISSION, though you are asked to make a generous £5 donation. Which you can either place in the well placed donation bottles. Or simply do an electronic donation with your Visa card. ( Or whatever you have). The Royal Albert museum is impressively laid out, though there are parts where space could easily ecome crowded. It was impressive to see a majority of visitors wearing face masks. Though it is personal choice now of course!!! The cafe area is well catered for, and the seating area is perfectly adequate and comfortable. As it is blatantly obvious that a LOT of hard work and effort has been done to make your visit memorable. So it would be best not to compare the Royal Albert Museum in Exeter with some others. That would not be fair to this museum. Make a visit and learn a lot during it folks. Enjoy

This is a lovely little museum with various small sections covering different areas. All the staff are very helpful. "Fly on the Wall" covering bugs, "In Fine Feather" - Birds, Ancient Cultures and Art. It's not a large museum but worth a look around. The lighting throughout the museum is very low, meaning that it can be hard to read any of the descriptions of items in the cases, or even see some of the smaller items such as insects. There is an art collection on the first floor but it's not mentioned in any of the plans or notices. It was showing a series of prints selected from their fine art collection while we were visiting, which included Hogarth and Dorothea Wight prints. The Cafe is worth avoiding if you want to eat. They serve the worst cheese toastie I've ever eaten - two slices of undercooked processed cheese in a couple of slices of dry bread, hardly toasted at all. The coffee is good though. Even the cafe has dismal lighting and is an unappealing place to sit.

42yo male, 43yo female, 14yo female, 5yo female, (special needs) Fantastic day out with lots of very interesting exhibits, luckily we happened to be there when there was a medieval combat day, which is right up my street. There was a company there getting you to try everything on, use the weapons, touch and feel everything and very happy to interact and educate on everything laid out on the displays. Queues for actual combat training with foam covered weapons. The rest of the exhibits were interesting for my 14yo and my youngest enjoyed the animals and pretty stones. Really enjoyable for a day out with the family but I will have to go back on my own and read every bit of information in all the different displays. Perfect place for me to be whilst they go shopping next time.

Located within the centre of Exeter the RAMM is a grand but often overlooked Victorian building that holds over a million different objects with collections ranging from fine art, natural history, archeology, and geology. You won't see them all at once as most of the collections are stored away but it does mean each time you return you are likely to see something different. The exhibitions change frequently as well the events that are on so it's worth checking the website to see whats new. The building is well laid out and accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs. A great wet day location to take the kids with plenty to engage them for a good couple of hours, entry is free with on site toilets, Cafe and free WiFi. If your in the area then this is well worth visit

To start of with this review, there is free entry, which is awesome! We started of with going to the Mummy section, we saw a coffin which had a body in it from 3000 years ago! It was amazing, some sections was shut due to the building work going on. We moved down to the tribe section which reminded me of Lilo and Stitch. We went down to the old exeter section we saw some amazing stuff, there was a lot of interactive activities which helped keeping interested. We also made a roman mosaic which was really addicting and I made a great one! I would like to add more to this review but there isn't much space to do so, overall I recommend going.
