We went here for a curry straight after work on a Thursday. It's a great little place we were taken aback by how nice and welcoming the staff were when we arrived. It's bright inside and the seating is ample. We all sat down and waited around 5/10 mins before a drink order was taken. A little slow in delivering the drinks but then after our main was ordered we proceeded to wait roughly 50 mins for 6 curries and the place wasn't too busy. Popadoms were excellent, freshly cooked to order. The curries rice and breads were all fantastic, you cannot fault the food here that's for sure. One of our party asked to take hers home for leftovers (roughly a third) and the waiters threw it away, however they actually cooked her a fresh curry, rice and naan to say sorry. The staff were amazing Highly recommended if you are not in a rush.

Do not recommend this restaurant. Found maggots in my napkin while I was eating. Restaurant should be reported to the local health authorities.

Crispy onion bhajis, thick and creamy Dal... Warming hearty Paneer Ceylon. Fresh Kingsfisher on tap... What's not to like?

I wouldn't even give this restaurant 1 star but had no option or I couldn't give a review. I phoned up at about lunchtime on Wednesday 19th August to book a table for that night at 6.30pm. At around 5pm I phoned again and changed the booking to 7pm. On both occasions I spoke to a male member of staff who confirmed my original booking and the change of time.

At just before 7pm my wife and I arrived at the restaurant looking forward to our dinner. The female member of staff who was behind the bar counter said that we did not have a booking and that the restaurant did not accept bookings on the day. I showed the lady my phone with proof that I had made the calls to book the tabke. She said that there would have been only 2 people who could have taken my call - either herself of her male colleague. She said that my wife and I would have to sit in the waiting area for a table to become available. We did this for a little while and then decided to leave as we did not wish to give this establishment our business when indirectly we had been accused of lying about making a reservation. In actual fact it was clear that whichever male member of staff that answered my 2 telephone calls had

  1. not informed me that bookings were not taken on the day
  2. Ignored my booking
  3. Failed to admit that he had taken the phone call in the...

Been there with my wife., yesterday.

Place is nice, cozy, family ran business for over 40 years!!

Food is tasty, starter with chutney s and lime pickle mind blowing! So good!

A bit disappointed with portions though.

Yeah, they brought us rice with mains but at the end of the day I had the feeling that behind the "fine dining experience", they were just robbing us :)

I have ordered a pinot noir 2021, (medium low range/ more low then medium) and total bill, ( we haven't had starter or desert) was £90! What a theft! :))

I know places that for £90 pounds you walk out barely capable to move or speak! With at least a bottle of wine extra! Or aperitifs.

For example Woks wich unfortunately is currently closed. Round the corner.

Yes, I d enjoyed the service and the experience, but I will think twice before go there again.

Not saying I m. Not going back.

But I ll have to consider.

Not really worth it. Not Michelin, not rosette, paper tissues . Come on! Portions for mains could be bigger.

I ll. Be back.. MAYBE

SHAME I DID NOT...
