I collect my husband from work and Tide Café has become our go-to little haven for a quick lunchtime escape. For me, it’s always the salmon & cream cheese bagel with a cappuccino; for him, it’s a simple cheese sandwich with an espresso (or a cortado if he’s feeling adventurous 😅).
These little pauses in the middle of busy days have meant more than I realised — a chance to sit, talk, laugh, and breathe together before life pulls us back in different directions. With job changes, our lunchtime visits are sadly coming to an end, but Tide will always be one of those places that feels like a “reset button.”

On arrival staff we're vaccuming ready to go home. Then additional customers arrived, so obviously popular.
As we had driven we were told to park within the gravel carpark for the Marina, but would have to pay £2 for the whole day, even though only staying 30 minutes.
Was advised I could pay £1 at the machine.
Could not find the machine. Signs say put vehicle reg and £2 in an envelope, which I did not have and post in a letter box I could not find.
By the way, carpark was mainly empty. No doubt the fee is to stop people taking parking liberties, fair enough, but I wonder how much cafe trade is lost.
They need to find a better system.
