I purchased a Celestite crystal online from this seller, it arrived damaged (cracked right though the middle with broken clusters across the top) due to poor packing (an empty coffee sachet box with a ball of screwed up news paper either side) absolutely no protection to the top of the crystal and clearly inadequate for postage/ protection of the crystal. I contacted the seller as soon as the crystal arrived along with photos of the damaged crystal and there poor packaging. I was absolutely gutted, but only to be told I would have to pay for the postage to return and then again for its replacement to be sent (despite the website stating shipping is covered) I was then informed by the seller it was a very soft crystal 1-2 on scale (wrong info) and this happens, my response, package better, I was then informed the same thing would happen again and I should of paid for the higher postage option, my response to the seller was if they had informed me of this I would of…... I then called the seller as the messenger seemed to be going down hill, I didn’t want matters to be difficult, I just wanted them resolved. After some discussion I was told a replacement crystal would be sent and we discussed purchasing a further items, the seller promised to return to me, I sent a reminder message but to no reply. So, a few moths on, no replacement, no refund, no contact. Very disappointing. I have since replaced the Celestite from another seller, it is stunning, great quality and above all not damaged. Such a shame as I genuinely believe the matter would be resolved.
I wholly dispute the response from Jamie, it is false and inaccurate information. More like damage limitation, Jamie messaged me directly at 4:19am in relation to my review, he is more concerned about the negative Google review than any of the issues raised. I have now been refunded but only following my review and a several messages...
Read moreWe are first time visitors and we will definitely be back!! We completed the skills bundle and it was so much fun!! We did get a bit competitive as a family. When you first arrive, I didn't see anywhere to park but we found a car park that was 5 min walk, it looks like a shop. Lacey was telling us it's an old bank (the old safe can still be seen). When you first walk in, there are cases filled with crystals, fossils and jewellery. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We asked about fossil hunting (found on their website and from reviews read) and they gave us a list!! Skills bundle selected!! Jamie suggested the museum and we have 6 months membership... hopefully a little bit more Indy will be seen). Out back is where we had a great time going from station to station. Lacey stayed with us the whole time and helped me find a blue and white piece of pottery 🥰🥰 thank you Lacey!! We could take 3 pieces from each station. Safe to say we now have a goody bag upon leaving!! It was carefully thought of as all pieces were bagged with a info sheet!! Perfect to help remind ourselves after a few months!! Lacey offered to show us around the museum, though small... it was enough to appreciate the work that went into what they have!! Check out the mammoth hip and Indy's skin prints!! After walking around the museum... shopping!! OK, me and my step daughter can shop but we struggled to think of what we wanted to buy!! There are so many pieces that we could of got, the thought and care behind the displays!! We will be back!! And we are thinking about joining the field trips too!! Thank you Jamie and Sarah for fossil galore and thank you Lacey for putting up...
Read moreWe spent a few happy hours here yesterday exploring the activities on offer with our 5 year old (who is currently really into fossils and archaeology). The volunteer who helped us access the activities was knowledgeable and friendly, helping me with our young baby as well, and sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge in a really child-friendly way. We would never have expected the activities at the back of the shop (the shop itself is worth a trip if you like gems and fossils); it was set up so that kids could all find something special and learn along the way. A really good first introduction to palaeontology and archaeology (I'm an archaeology museum curator). As an aside, we loved how inclusive the place felt too. We loved seeing the team chatting happily together - it has such a welcoming and cheerful vibe. Facilities were good too - rough and ready but in a very good way that works well with kids. And, the team are currently helping us to retrieve a much-loved Teddy that our son left behind by mistake, which shows how much these guys care. All in all, a fabulous find and one we will...
