Came on a Saturday night after spending Friday night at the Barry white tribute act. Restaurant was very quiet, staff hover about until there are issues then they disappear! Only two other groups in and it had an awkward atmosphere. Came for my mums birthday and we thought we’d go for a nice meal, My mum ordered plaice which had tiny bones in every mouthful, she ended up leaving most of it. The menu said it come with jersey royal potatoes but it was instead served with a cheaper alternative (see pic). The vegetable sides came out after we’d almost finished our mains which was a shame as they were nice. The mineral waters had clearly been tampered with (looked old and arrived with screw tap open and put back on tight) - tasted distinctly like tap water. Olives and bread were good - as was my chicken (missing the jus). We spoke to our waitress about it all and she said ‘ok yes we could have filleted the fish for you sorry’. We asked for the bill which instead of being discounted due to all the problems had a 12.5% service charge added - only two of us dining, we didn’t order starters or desserts and had one small glass of wine each - came to just under £100. It was an extremely expensive meal and my mum didn’t want me to complain as she just wanted to leave - we were left very disappointed. We have friends coming to the hotel for a weekend away and we’ve advised them to steer clear - advise you the same! We would recommend to go into Hythe and try anywhere...

Came here for a meal last week eith my husband and it was delicious. We each had 3 courses and some booze and the total bill came to around £130. For the first time ever we both had the same menu. Bread and butter for the table Starter.... ham hock terrine with a Poached egg and black pudding crumb Main..... sirloin steak (one ordered medium rare, the other rare and they came out a little rarer than that but still hot and delicious) Pudding....brioche bread and butter pudding. Few Carlsbergs, a bottle of water and a large glass of...

We stayed at the Hythe Imperial this week and enjoyed a nice meal in the Coast Restaurant their last night. The food was absolutely delicious and we were well looked after by friendly servers. My only reason for only giving 4 stars was the ambience: it was incredibly bright in the restaurant and the lights could be dimmed. The music was also some weird mix of songs on repeat which didn’t suit the setting. Food was great and the...
