If you are looking for food after 2.30pm don't go here. We went in at 2.45pm and asked for a sandwich. Even though the bread, knife and food etc was next to the person serving at the till and would only take a minute to make it they wouldn't help us. Seems a bit silly, it's only a sandwich, we're not in the stone age anymore - people do eat these days at other times then between 12 and 2.30. Ending up going to the local hotel instead, much better there.
12th May update in response to the owners comments for my original review. Just to update the owner that i have eaten with you before and the food is ok I'm giving you feedback which you really should take on board and consider and not just dismiss straight away out of hand. Why not change your processes and maybe look to offer a sandwich after 2.30pm? You are open till 5pm on Saturdays and a sandwich is pretty easy to make, it's not rocket science no matter what you may claim, you can make it as fancy as you like but at the end of the day we are talking about a sandwich. I'm sorry to leave negative feed back but as a customer if I feel something needs commenting on to help other customers I am well within my right to give my feedback. I would strongly recommend that you take in my comments and make improvements, if you do make changes I would be more than happy to change my original rating. All the best, I hope you find my...
Read moreThis little cafe is a great location for a chill, beach sweet treat kinda day. I've had coffee and cake from here a few times and it's always been yummy! However I met my mum here for lunch, courtesy of her, and unfortunately the experience was quite sour. The food choices are quite simple (which isn't a bad thing) but it didn't taste of anything and the bread was so hard I couldn't finish it without cutting the roof of mouth. I would have liked to have sent it back and asked for my mum's money back but the owner/manager didn't seem to like it when I first pointed out that my order was wrong. While I appreciate everyone has a bad day and we did kind of get an apology for the rude reaction, it just made me feel super awkward, especially in such a small and intimate environment. Better communication would have gone a long way. Overall I felt worse for my mum who had paid to have a nice lunch...
Read moreGreat for the soul on Hythe beach. This place is fabulous. Great atmosphere and people. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Always leave feeling great.
The coffee is really good and theyâre deservedly proud of it. The food is always lovely and always feels like itâs prepared with love and care. And while a little chilly in winter in spite of the heaters, there are rugs to put on knees and it feels like an authentic beachside cafe. So much soul and heart and great views of the sea. (This feels very community oriented. No feeling of plastic and overpriced here which is endemic to coastal sites...
