REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE. Left this place bewildered&baffled.Came here with my colleagues, thought we'd try it out, thought they could use the help being a restaurant in the middle of nowhere, let alone a nepalese restaurant, well wish we hadnt, total regrets and will NEVER GO BACK. From the minute we got there the staff treated us with contempt as if they didnt want us there,no idea at all why as we're middle aged normal&well dressed. None of the staff including the owner manager spoke a word of english, were serious faced, were very pushy and never once used the word please or thankyou, not even a thankyou or goodbye when we left. We felt forced and rushed by the owner to order the starter and main meal both at the same time so didnt get proper time to study the menus main meal and when they took the menus away i asked if i could keep one on the table,he looked shocked. He also looked disgusted when i said i'm not ready to order a drink just yet. The owner was extremely rude by gestering, mumbling&flagging rapid handsignals to my colleague to get out of the way as he was trying to push a tight fitting food trolley between the tables to get to another customer and my colleagues chair was a couple of inches out of place, this was shockingly rude. The starter was minute,so small you could have hidden it in an egg cup,4 very small bits of meat on a small cocktail stick and one forkfull of lettuce, now i had no hope about the main meal. The main meal was child sized and came in 2 tubs almost the same as if you went to iceland store and bought two £1.50 tubs, one with rice and one with chicken tikka and the same amount of chicken,i counted 6 pieces. The food was second rate,i was left hungry and out of pocket for what i feel more than triple what it was worth. It cost us more than £22 each including a drink for something that was definately worth no more than £7.50 Halfway through the so called meal around 30+ nepalese off duty soldiers came into the restaurant, all aged in their 20's and it was unbearably noisy, couldnt wait to get out. Asked for the bill and put the money on the tray not realising it was about 22p short, the owner waving&flagging ridiculous hand gestures at the money and walked off disgusted, couldnt believe what i was seeing. None of the staff or owner said goodbye or thankyou when we left. It'll take a long time to get over...

We recently visited Dover and craved some momos and proper Nepalese food and found this place.
We ordered momos, Gurkha beer, lamb rogan josh and tarsi khasi. Tbh, names don’t really matter anyway as they all had the same curry and flavour).
The momos were served and they were delicious and we complimented the server about the momos when he came back.
The 2 lamb dishes and naans were served and at first, we thought the same thing was served rather than 2 different dishes.
We were wrong and right.
They were the same dishes, but one was way hotter as they had added raw chilli powder and mixed it in the gravy of the other lamb dish we had. The lamb was stretchy and chewy.
I only ate naan on its own and my family was really hungry so we basically binned the food in our stomachs.
We decided to provide feedback to the manager/chef/server and told him politely what our thoughts were.
As soon as we mentioned that both the dishes had the same gravy and one just had raw chilli powder added on top, he flipped and said “it is our fan favourite, rest is upto you” and walked away.
We were so shook with the way he raised his voice that none of us spoke again.
The bill came and before we paid, we wanted to ensure that the manager understands that we were upset with the way he wasn’t ready to accept our feedback and instead, shouted at us.
While we paid the bill, we kept trying to tell him that his behaviour was rude and he kept saying he wasn’t wrong. This horrendous experience costed us £83.
I am sorry Gurkha Palace, your food was bad and the customer service made it even worse. Will not recommend this...

I had an amazing experience at Gurkha Palace! The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic Nepalese flavors. Each dish was beautifully presented in traditional brass-handled bowls, making the whole dining experience feel special.
The curries were outstanding — rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. The red curry was creamy and flavorful, the lentil daal comforting and hearty, and the vegetable curry had just the right balance of spices and textures. The grilled skewers were tender and juicy, complemented by fresh vegetables and salad on the side. Everything tasted freshly prepared and cooked with care.
The service was warm and attentive throughout, and the atmosphere cozy and welcoming — perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions.
If you’re looking for authentic Nepalese food with great hospitality, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be...
