KFC Durham Mercia Retail Park — Restaurant in Framwellgate Moor

Have been coming here fortnightly for some time with elderly parents. But the last few times is horrendous. Now they insist you order on a machine despite elderly parents not having a clue how to use this. If I wasn't with them they wouldn't be able too order at all. The toilets are absolutely minging always urine and feaces smeared around the place. Usually the restaurant isn't too and but since a few weeks before Christmas it clearly has t been cleaned. The same sneeze marks have been all over the window where we sit 3 times running. No attempt to clean the windows. Tables are greasy and the lack of heating is shocking. Despite been freezing temperatures outside my smart watch read at 3 degrees inside the restaurant the chips were cold so was the mash whether that was due to the lack of heating I don't know. After visiting this KFC on a few occasions, I've come to the conclusion that it is pot luck as to what service you get. One time you order on the app to collect you get your food fairly quick, the next you wait 15 minutes when no other customers are in the restaurant. One time you go you get a friendly staff member, the next time a really miserable one who doesn't want to be there. Also there always seems to be rubbish over all the tables and floor if you go in the evening, even when it's not busy. If you got these things right, this place would be much better and would be a nicer place to visit. We tried this KFC to see if any changes have taken place. Yes we waited 25-30 minutes for our food. I don't know what is going on with this KFC. Service is very, very slow even if you order in advance through the app. We checked in about 6 minutes before we arrived and I still had to wait almost 15 more minutes for the food. We were there on the 30th November and it was freezing cold inside. They had no heating on at all so, even if you wanted to eat in, you couldn't. The screens are broken so you can't see the menu (and they have been broken for months) so you have no choice but to use the app. As for the food - it's burnt. This isn't the first time. The chicken coating should be a lovely golden colour but it's dark brown, verging on black. The chicken is almost certainly refried. It's awful. Couldn't eat it so a waste of £25....
