Pizza Hut — Restaurant in Gateshead

Walked into the pizzahut at the Metrocentre and was greeted by young girls that just looked so fed up of being there. I was told I could just find a table and sit where I wanted. I was told to order everything using the table QR code like they did in the old days of Covid. There was my table of 2 and maybe 2 or 3 other small tables in at this time.

When I stood up and approached the counter, I asked if I could get some help at the table and just take a simple order for pizza rather than going through the whole app carry on - we all know what I mean. To then, my pal noticed one of the staff leaving, who then made eye contact with the person who was on shift where the member of staff working shook their heads as though I was totally out of order to actually ask for service at their place of work while they are at work 😂

So this straight away just kinda annoyed me from the off but we've all met that type of 'team member' that is out radged because they have been asked to work, whilst at work. So then to the food. I was really looking forward to this bit because I've never really had a rubbish one yet.

Well, when it came out it was the wrong one all together so they switched it for the right one. The food that came out just didn't taste as fresh as it usually does and all the sides just seemed very standard. Like Lidl standard - no offence Lidl, your...

I came to this Pizza Hut with my family and let's just say we are NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN! Firstly, the entrance area actually stank. The smell was horrible and my mum felt a bit sick. Next, we were seated and this was a quiet Sunday evening. The man who led us to the table said, "we'll come in a minute to take your order." We thought it was strange that he didn't ask for our drinks but we waited... and waited... and waited. These waiters just stood and chatted. We waited for so long and when the waiter walked next to our table, we put our hand up so they could get our order (we'd waited for at least 15 minutes and we were hungry) and he tells us to wait before he even gave us a chance to speak! So he goes to the table next to us, gets the bill and then goes back to the other waiter and continues his conversation. So we wait a little longer and that's when we had enough and got up to leave. Before we left we told them, "it must be a really busy time of day because we waited so long that we're leaving!" and all they said was, "oh yeah" and as we left they proceeded to laugh and chat. 🩷🩷🩷 Came to Pizza Hut metro and we had the adult buffet, We came with my daughter who’s just turned one and we didn’t have to pay as she could share our food because she’s under 2 which I found amazing as she’s picks rather than eats an full meal. She absolutely loved the salad and tried some new things like peppers and beetroot. However she did drop some on the floor.

We had the buffet pizza, salad and pasta and my god we were not disappointed plenty of choice and all checked regularly by staff. We have had a pleasant experience and we have enjoyed our meal today and it was great value for money too!!

We had service from Claire, Emma & Ian today, they were all fabulous, even when it came to cleaning after my one year old nothing was an issue and they were more than happy cleaning up after her even tho I did offer to clean the mess myself as I felt so guilty, however Claire Emma and Ian were all lovely and couldn’t fault there service at all, would recommend this restaurant to family and friends. Photos aren’t the best however it was delicious and worth every penny we were too full to finish the little bits 🤣
