Antalya Turkish Grill — Restaurant in Gedling

I've eaten Turkish food for years as a veggie, but I've just eaten some of the most depressing food in my life this afternoon. I ordered the mushroom casserole at first, which turned out to literally be just a few fried sliced mushrooms that were covered in a sea of grated cheese. Utterly bizarre and insultingly priced at £10. After one mouthful, I complained and asked for the veggie casserole, which was equally embarrassing, being just a few fried veggies that would have been whipped up in a pan for 5/10 minutes. None of the usual flavoursome herbs, spices, or even much seasoning as I had to keep pouring salt over it to get some flavour out of the veggies. I Googled the word casserole so that I could offer some insight to the hard-headed 'chef' into what i should have expected to eat, rather than a total refund, I just got a bunch of paltry verbal meanderings. Suffice to say I won't be returning. And I didn't even mention the loud music which was used to cover up the lack of atmosphere. I really miss the Antalya we had in the city centre for many decades. Wonderful food, there. Before I finish, I should add that I appreciate this place is just a grill, not a restaurant. But I would expect a better attempt to please the non-meat/fish eaters 🤮

Felt extremely unwelcome. Never in my life felt like this in a Turkish restaurant. As someone who is Turkish Cypriot and been to Turkey & Cyprus dozens of times, I have never felt so excluded. They talked about me (in front of my face in Turkish), like I was ignorant as if I didn't understand what they were saying. After simply asking for Turkish yoghurt with my dish, they acted as though I didnt know what I was talking about and flippently questioned why I would want it... They then took my food away to the back and absolutely covered my food in cold yogurt, making it instantly cold after cooking it fresh (rather than putting on the side or with the salad.) There are MUCH better establishments than this around Nottingham, spend your money elsewhere instead. What a shame, gutted, as this was my first experience...

Strangely leaving this review because I've had my 3rd takeaway now from this place and the first donor I had in November was the best lamb freshly cut meaty donor I've ever had then I ordered again and it had changed to the worse dirty kebab shop donor then just incase I was wrong I ordered again to check and yes the donor has just degraded from my first order.

Really gutted because I finally found quality donor and yet even you guys have decided to change to the crap stuff,not sure why.
