Changed my review that has stood for 2 years. I have been a visitor occasionally over the previous few years for events such as world cup, etc and other nights for the music. The bar staff are wonderful, environment is brilliant and felt safe in the covid secure environment. However what happened at the abrupt end of our night was anything but brilliant. Three people in our party including myself, one member has had a fairly long day but decided to join us regardless, this meaning she was tired. After two drinks she was fairly sleepy and so we were preparing to leave, myself ordering a taxi and waiting for confirmation on my phone. During this time, a fairly young female member of door staff approached our table and told us it was time to leave. Confusion throughout all of us, she repeated it and this time more vigor in her tone. After finally asking why, she replied with "she's drunk". I could understand why she would think this as to her behaviour being misunderstood to be a drink manner when it was infact tiredness. Trying to explain this to your member of door staff but was she was not having any of it. After leaving our table, and her voice becoming more assertive we proceed to the entrance (where we have previously seen people throughout the night enter and leave through), about to go through the door she stops us and redirects us through the pub and infront of everyone left in the establishment. This was very embarrassing, we have sat ourselves in the corner for a reason.
If this wasn't enough, she stopped us again but this time outside to make sure we were leaving which at this point it was obvious that we were as if to instigate something from one of us, having had a drink but not drunk she knew that we could be more likely to flip our lids as to say.
This is the first time I have been kicked out of an establishment.
She seems a very inexperienced member of door staff and approaches a situation completely misunderstood and with the incorrect attitude, and for this reason I would like to know the company you use as to submit a formal complaint. Having worked with various companies in this field for crowd management etc. This was not the way it should have...
Read moreDuring my recent visit, we were greeted with rudeness and control. There were 4 of us and we were told to sit in the corner away from everyone else, even though other tables were available and not reserved. Then when saying hello to friends while passing to go to the toilet, I was told not to mix with others. Later on... the four of us became 6 so we moved to a bigger table but two we were already sat with were told they couldn't sit on our 6 seater table so were put on a two seater table 2 metres from us. The whole time being spoken to with complete disrespect and rudeness, but told those were the covid rules. However other people were dancing on the raised area and the staff were not wearing gloves or masks. So this I feel was a personal attack on me and my friends and completely unnecessary and uncalled for. Firstly its double standards and secondly if there was a problem, we should have been spoken to with politeness not bullying tactics. So I addressed my issues with the landlord, who started yelling at me because he didn't want anything negative being said about his staff or pub. So he told us to leave rather than be reasonable and listen and address the issues raised. Although I would like to add that a young staff member named Vikki was as always very professional and polite and could teach the older ones about good...
Read moreBeen here a few times for a coffee in the morning and the lady serving seems more interested in slagging off her fellow staff members than serving me. Apart from the customer service its a nice place.
In reply to your question. Basically I come in for a coffee whenever I'm in the area for work (probably every couple of months) and I came in recently and was served by this lady(older lady who wears glasses) and her attitude is discraceful towards other staff members, talking behind there back. It made me think if she's like that with her own staff then what is she like with customers? I don't normally leave reviews but the only reason I've decided to leave one is because a few months back the exact same thing happened with the same person in question. I was completely gobsmacked it's happened twice and that is why I've left the review. I would certainly not have this lady anywhere near my workplace. Like I said apart from this the pub is nice and I'm not after any vouchers or anything, I was just looking to make you aware as I'm sure it's not a true reflection of...
