A merry Christmas… unless you’re disabled
I visited Sprinters on Christmas Day with my family, including my elderly grandparents. My grandad is disabled and we made Sprinters aware of this on multiple occasions (at least 4, including once in person when they took payment) and was assured that it was no problem and we would be allocated an accessible table. On the day, we arrived to find we had been allocated a non-accessible table (a booth which had a large step up to it). We asked for another table, and was allocated one in an adjoining room which was only accessible by walking back outside and around the entire building, or down some internal steps. When asked if they expected my elderly disabled grandad to struggle down the steps, staff were unbothered and unhelpful.
With the aid of myself and two others, we managed to get down the steps into the dining room. Whereas the main room was bustling with Christmas music and atmosphere, this room was empty and quiet. There was no atmosphere and it was as if we’d been put in there as an afterthought. There were 5 of us and we were placed on a table for 4, then the staff member started moving the table next to it over to fit us on. Our booking had been made weeks if not months before, so again this felt like an afterthought.
I’ve given Sprinters two stars as the food was good, as we’ve come to expect from Sprinters. The wait times were very long though, and staff didn’t seem confident in what they were serving. I ordered a peach bellini, which arrived in a gin glass (full to the top too, which I normally wouldn’t complain but it suggested that the staff didn’t know what their own menu items are?). We didn’t receive our welcome drinks as stated either, so we had to ask for these to arrive with our desserts.
Unfortunately the service we received means we won’t be returning, especially not for special occasions due to the way they regard disability and their overall customer service. Our table spent over £300 to be there for Christmas and we expected to feel special, however we left feeling like an inconvenience and not festive at all.
If I had been the member of staff expecting a disabled elderly customer to risk his safety how they did, I would be very...
Read moreTook my daughter and her fella and kids here on Boxing Day as a treat as is usually nice . Not this time . Firstly We ordered drinks but they had to go to Asda to get some orange juice which my daughter got after we had all drank ours at a cost of £3.75 then we got our starters but not my daughter, they forgot hers and again she got it after we had all eaten ours not good. Then we had our mains and her fella had the big boy burger which was so hard and burnt couldn’t get a fork easily into it. We mentioned it to waitress who came back and said as it’s Boxing Day no refunds. I then spoke to the manager who denied he told her that and would sort it . Upon paying I was told by the manager he had deducted the burger meal and my daughters starter. I paid went home and checked my bill which in heinsite I should have done before paying . The starter hadn’t been deducted and I was charged for a bread roll which we never had. No real apology and billed incorrectly. I was really not impressed with the food or service and not what I was hoping for as a family meal on Boxing Day. Mistakes I know happen but telling lies isn’t a mistake. I usually check my bill before paying but was a lot on it so didn’t I will not be making that...
Read moreWent with my wife for a much needed meal out. Was served by a rude waitress (not only to us but also table of 10 next to us) who didn't know how to use their tablets for taking the orders. (The best bit is at the bottom btw.) Food took an age to arrive when told that it should be quick as there wasnt very many tables in (6) and when it arrived the steaks had not been rested (on a steak night). Had to remind the staff of the sauces we ordered and still heard one of them shout to the kitchen which table is this for. Food tasted adequate as could have made better at home. Asked for a second glass of wine - never arrived. Table of 10 asked if they could have a look at the desert menu and I overheard the waitress respond with "I suppose so". And then got upset when her colleague had taken the order before her. Finally when we asked for the bill we got asked if we wanted to pay on 2 separate cards. OMG! We are happily married couple and you never ask that to anybody. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN TO BE INSULTED WHEN THE STAFF INSINUATE WE ARE HAVING AN...
