Himalayan Inn Nottingham-Nepalese & Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Gedling

Booked a table for Valentine's day, saw a set menu on the website but assumed this was optional (£25.95pp). Arrived, sat down, got drinks. Then when it came to order it turns out that the set menu is the only food available. Now the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't what we would have ordered. The take away side was very busy so we were waiting longer than we should have for our food. In hindsight we should have asked for the take away menu and ordered trom there but, at the time, we felt the only options were to be charged over for food we had no choice around or just walk out and go for fast food! i like to think of myself as a bit of an indian food expert after eating and trying about 50 different indian restaurants in my life and trust me when i say this is by far the best due to the exciting menu and a mix of different himalayan currys and dishes to try. each one i try seems to be better than the last i always seem to have a new favourite everytime i go to this place but whatever curry i choose i always combine it with their biriani rice which is so moist and flavoursome again the best i have ever eaten. service is amazing atmosphere is great and i love the fact the servers never try and pressure you into buying more drink when you are full (a problem we encountered at other restaurants) please try this place you will not be disapointed...

This was our first visit (the first of many, many more I'm sure) on Christmas Day. They had a set Xmas menu of 3 courses. You did have the option of making your meal more or less spicy according to taste. The food was out of this world delicious. I'm a huge curry fanatic and I was blown away with the meal. We had to leave some of it as we were totally stuffed. The staff were really friendly and genuinely seemed pleased to see us. Even the head chef came out to say hello to all the Christmas diners. We're already thinking about going back next Christmas. I'm really looking forward to trying out items from their normal day-to-day menu but if it is half as good as what we've just had it'll be bloomin' marvellous. Highly...
