Piginns Cafe — Restaurant in Gedling

I went for lunch and should have walked immediately really! The place is dirty and smells of stale grease! I ordered a coffee and jacket potato. The coffee was the cheapest instant coffee which tasted awful, really bitter, served in a dirty stained cup! I thought maybe I would have more luck with my jacket potato! This was even worse it wasn't cooked properly and was cold and the topping was tuna if you could call it that!! A watery pile of what looked like cat vomit with some stringy cheese and a bit of gone off salad! I couldn't eat it so walked! How they get away with running a business like this is beyond me! It's a shame to write a bad review as the owner seemed nice enough but this is not acceptable when serving members...

Instantly smelt strong of grease on arrival, glasses and cutlery were very dirty and owner could not tell me what certain dishes were with ease. Had to ask twice for my drink after ordering as was not brought to me. Genuinely the blandest food I have eaten, meat was so fatty, broth had grease sitting on top and rice was pre-made. Lacked seasoning and had a sceaming child at the front behind the till whole time. Only person who seemed friendly/happy to be there was the cook lady, although nice though she shouldn’t be cooking and going in and out to serve customers as this is unhygienic. My Little boy suffers from a Milk Allergy, so we dont eat out very often due to risk of accidental exposure. The lovely lady who served us did not know much about milk allergies, but because of this she spent time with me checking the ingredients in their foods to make sure what was safe for him to eat, she prepared his food in a separate area using separate utensils that have not come into contact with anything else as an extra precaution. She took a lot of time and care to make sure my sons food was safe for him to eat.
