Great place to go at weekends. Female bar manageress is a very Biased. Does not adhere to or respect the mental health act. Someone hit me on my back of my head with a pint glass a couple of years ago. I said something to her when I was thown out that I would not have said if I did not have head trauma. I went in a few months last abd said I was so sorry and embarrassed and I would not ever say something like what i did to anyone. She accepted my apology and said I could go back in last year in November. that was in 2022, bu meaning this november. Went in tonight for the first time in a very long time to see some friends and she walked past me and said in my ear "you're banned" she would not even wait for me to respond reminding her of what she said to me oh so long ago. Then the bouncers came and I was escorted out. I would like to add that the person who glassed me then rn off has a city wide ban from going in any pub in my city, let she has never banned him and he still continues to go in there to this day. She has no respect for the mental health act and is very self concerted and follows her own rules. Twisting and bemding them at her own will. She should not be working in a public environment aspecially in a managerial position. The power she feels she has over people clearly affects her ability to be a fair, understandin and cnsiderate human beings. I will be reporting her to the police for victimisation. I hope you read this you lying mean human being because if I have it my way which I'm going to do the best I can do to achieve. you will never work in a manegerial position again. You have been and contually to be mentally abusive and mean to me because I suffer from combat related post traumatic stress disorder, that is nowhere near acceptable...

This is typical Wetherspoons reasonably priced and worth the money, meals seem smaller but still just as good, this is set on Kingsquare in Gloucester, has plenty of seating inside and outside and smoking area, children friendly, this was the old cinema for gloucester, worth a visit.. We now come here a bit more. They do clear down alot quicker than Lord High Constable. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Did have issue with still frozen food then got taken back and came back still frozen. Kitchen Manager did ring and email to apologise and apparently has taken steps to ensure food safety. Sat here and watching waitress transfer sauces from one bottle to another which is against health and hygiene. To be honest it's disgusting. We also sat and watched while 8 meals sat under the warming lamps for 5 minutes and no excuses it's not that busy 16/04/2025. This is a really good wetherspoons but just little things like this not good. But do enjoy the deals and speaking to the friendly staff. Will still use. 18/04/2025. Nice to see a member of staff using initiative using trolley and lift to clear down. All tables wiped clean. And such a lovely friendly hardworking lady Carol. And she would be brilliant training the others apart from duty manager who...

The majority of staff members do not know how to work a bar , its no surprise as they don't get any proper training. They don't have a clue who is next and are not aware of who is waiting , they just look up and if you are stood there then you are next regardless if that person just turned up. The staff are miserable and cannot seam to smile , the male toilets are grotty. One of the many managers a guy with dark hair is as miserable as sin and and passive aggressive and hating life, looking to bar punters at the drop of a hat, no respect for the punters that have kept this place open during harsher times , if it wasn't for regular customers this type if establishment would close just like the one in cheltenham, more training is needed for the ''pop up managers on how to talk to people properly. If the actual main manger had more.of a presence in the bar area they might see what is actually going on. This place has a lot of un savoury people who frequent the establishment, using it as an alternative to being on the streets, and not spending any money , this is fair enough , however long standing customers who are loyal and spend good money to keep this place going, get forgotten and...

Been quite a while since I've had chance to go out for an afternoon pub meal. Fancied a quick bite before shopping and definitely didn't want to have any more fast food drive thru's. Went to The Regal on a Saturday before Gloucester played rugby. Didn't know what to expect service wise, but read a sign at the bar saying that we could order from our table using the app. The app was really straight forward, ordered food and drinks for myself and my daughter. Modified her burger to have no salad and extra bacon and cheese and modified my burger to have halloumi fries in. Paid on the app also. There was about a 10 minute wait for drinks to arrive. Which wasn't bad considering the amount of people there. Food came not too long after, looked amazing. Portion size was great as mine included onion rings too. Chips and burger were super hot. Only downside was the burger still contained salad, bonus being more for me!! Didn't get offered any sauces and a quick scan of the room didn't help find a bottle of much needed ketchup either. Without the usual condiments for such a meal, the food was still 9/10. I would definitely go again!

Another Wetherspoons I've previously been to many years ago, however did not review at the time. This is one of two branches in Gloucester. The Regal is a large branch of Wetherspoons situated in an old Cinema building, in King's Square, on the northern side of the City Centre. There is a reasonable sized garden area out the back of the pub. The bar area and coffee machines are on the left hand side of the pub, as you walk down the stairs at the front. On this occasion, I ordered a Vegetarian Breakfast, and a pint of Wolf Brewery 'Granny Wouldn't Like It' Ale - 4.8%. Total cost was £7.88. £4.99 for the breakfast, and £2.89 for the beer. The pint arrived within a minute of ordering, very quick! Food was a bit slower, arriving around 13 minutes after ordering. The food was well present and cooked upon arrival. Despite the recent price rises, still one of the cheapest places in Gloucester centre for food and drink.
