What a joke of a pub... booked 3 local live music groups as a Halloween spectacular. Stopped the whole programme during the first set because their regular clientele didn't find it entertaining. These are local musicians with a huge following, many of whom had turned up in costume for Halloween. To stop a musician mid set to turn on your horrible cd music is an insult. What a lot of custom and money you lost on what was promising to be a great night. What a great little find. In all the years I’ve lived in the county never even knew of this place. We stopped for a pint whilst waiting for a carol concert at the nearby stunning Gloucester Cathedral. We were served quickly and the beer was very tasty. This pub is a great reason for why people should start using pubs again like we used to. Buying alcohol from the supermarket isn’t really the same is it? Love this pub , I live in Cheltenham and come over to the sword , it’s a lovely atmosphere and friendly , i and my partner are Gay and it’s lovely to be able to come to a pub that feels to be LGBT friendly, certainly non judgemental to whoever you are.
