Wing Wah — Restaurant in Gloucester

Tried to over charge, long wait, and below average taste.

Ordered on their website online. Arrived at the place a few mins after the time I was told the food would be ready. Was charged straight away, was told cash only, but I only noticed after a hand written sign after saying ‘due to unforeseen circumstances, cash is preferred’ which is a questionable sentence on its own, but screams tax fraud, as they have card machines but are reluctant to use them (I saw someone else have a very hard time trying to pay card..) I handed over two £20 notes for a £25 something bill. The women gave me back £4 some and ran off!!… when she finally came back I told her I’d given her £40 and she just stared at me… I further explained that she short changed me £10 and she just continued to stare at me. A bloke also in the restaurant (stranger) backed me up and confirmed that I handed her 2 £20 notes and she just kept staring at us both, eventually she did give me my £10 but such a weird interaction, she’s didn’t say a word….After waiting a while, I asked how long, as it was much past the time I was told my order would be ready. I was told ten minutes. About 20 later, so over 30 mins after the time I was told it was ready, I finally got our food. It wasn’t awful. But wasn’t anything special, and definitely wasn’t worth the wait. Would avoid...

I used to order from Wing Wah as my go-to Chinese. Tonight my order was delivered quickly, but it was awful. Chicken balls were dripping in oil and soggy. The prawn toast had no sign of a prawn or even a prawn paste. It was white fried bread with sesame seeds on it. When I called to raise the issue with them, the woman who answered said NONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS EVER COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT AND LOOK FOR THE PRAWNS UNDERNEATH THE SEEDS. I looked again. I saw white toast and sesame seeds. I tasted it, just to give them the benefit of the doubt, and all I tasted was white toast and sesame seeds fried in oil. And.... as an added bit of information, when I eat seafood, I always come out in a few itchy bumps (not enough to put me off eating it though). I am now one hour post eating a slice of "prawn" toast and I will be buggered if I still feel hungry and not itchy at all!!!! I have been A customer Over 14 years,, 1 or 2 times a week for us 2.. Between £35 & £55 a ticket ie, take away for two!! But this year and abit had been the very worst for my take aways..at Wing wah!!
