Blue Cobra — Restaurant in Gosport

Very lovely food but misleadingly expensive. There's no menu outside and no real menu online. The charge a fair amount more for dine -in which is to be expected but there's no way of knowing how much.

Me and my girlfriend ordered: one portion of onion baji each one chicken balti that came with a naan 2 poppadoms 2 Malabowith coke 1 coke

From a takeaway Indian this would usually cost around £20 or less. To dine in it cost us just over £50.

The dine in experience was nice with everything you'd expect from an Indian dine in but unfortunately the customer service was just good. For £50 and bring the only people in the restaurant we we're expecting the high end of hospitality but unfortunately all we got was standard politeness and barely a smile. The waiters were always around for us to call on though which is nice.

Couldn’t have been made unwelcome! Arrived at 5.10pm bearing in mind they open at 5pm. Left standing at the door for a while! One guy is on the phone the other guy was just standing there no eye contact with us. Finally got to sit down as the guy who was in the phone reluctantly come off the phone to sit us down! The other guys so so rude to us when I asked for a drink. He said “wait a minute, we have just opened” so rude and unwelcoming. It’s like we were being told off for wanting to spend money in their restaurant! The popodums were “stale” probably leftover from last night. Other food were nice and delicious. booked a table for 16 for my wifes 60th birthday when we arrived we were told that we 1 hour to eat a three course meal which is ridiculous. so we all got up and left ,then phoned the indian cottage in fareham, who were most helpful and found room for us with no time limit. we had an excellent meal , and a enjoyable evening would highly recommend this restuarant they were very helpful at such short notice, so cobra you missed out on £ 300 pound and we will never enter your premises again .let this be a warning to any one else thinking of having a special birthday meal here, we thought our evening was ruined but the indian cottage saved the day if i could give a...
