The Penguin — Restaurant in Gosport

Is a local eats for us, we love going round for treats, morning breakfast, scrambled are LUSH, my family would have a full English, and never complain, always looks what they say. One of the best. My grandchildren love the penguin for breakfast. They have cakes that one does not know what to choose as they are LUSH Yummy, and another is fresh cream x Jam Scones, Ohhh I could go on and on. Great independent cafe by the sea. We go there often for breakfast, brunch or icecream. Tables always promptly cleared and properly cleaned (never a sticky table!) Staff always cheerful and polite, food always good, locally sourced and reasonably priced. My favourite is the posh breakfast with fried potatoes. Wonderful cakes on display but have not tried yet. Icecream queue is always shorter than competition just a few doors up. New Forest Icecream is delicious! A very chilled comfortable atmosphere, a favourite with locals. Love all the penguin...

I was sat eating with my family and a lady with a dog walked in. I love dogs but was shocked to see they were allowed in with so much food around. It was a v scatty spaniel, no bibs or sign of it being an assistant dog. Next thing I know dog hair has landed on my food. I picked the hair off my plate put it on my side plate and presented it to the staff. Well, they didn't care and the managers attitude absolutely stinks, he just shrugged his shoulders, not even an apology, unacceptable....
