GLUTEN FREE EATERS!! Went in today for a gluten free toastie. I received an extremely small toastie, wasn’t even equivalent to half the size of a toastie using ‘normal’ bread as the people I was with payed the same price for a normal one and was more than twice the size. Spoke to a waiter and was told they were using ‘temporary’ gluten free bread until they get their usual back in. I asked if I could have another one or an alternative as I payed £5:50 and it was not filling. He then said he’d speak to his manager. A waitress who had red coloured hair. Came over and said it nothing they can do as it’s just the bread they used I then explained how the other waiter said it was just temporary bread and the one they usually use is of average size. She ignored this and continued to tell me that gluten free bread only comes in that size. Which I said as a gluten intolerant individual that this is not true as I have bought bread that is a lot bigger than this. She proceeded to say that she recommends people to NOT get the gluten free bread and said that the girl who took my order should have advised me not to get it. Which I find very unprofessional and clearly issues regarding the bread is shared amongst the staff as well as the customer. No alternative or refund was issued and she seemed to simply not care and I felt discriminated due to my intolerance. She told me again there’s nothing she can do and proceeded to walk away. I will not be returning as I left feeling upset and treated differently due to my intolerance. I had to go to a shop and find something to eat as I...

Whilst this place is beautifully presented and the staff are really polite and friendly, unfortunately the Coffee’s and Food let this place down.

I went in this morning for a Dirty Chai Latte and it looked and tasted awful. Whilst the staff were lovely enough to replace this with a different drink (a standard latte) when that arrived it had a slightly beer taste to it which no amount of sugar could help - almost like the coffee had been burnt. Myself and my friend ordered food, he had the egg florentine which he said was mediocre but did the job. I ordered the Banana and Chocolate pancakes and whilst the presentation was delightful unfortunately the standard of the food did not match up to this. It was like trying to cut into a cutlet of steak. The chocolate was drowning the pancakes and had a ‘cheap’ chocolate taste. The bananas tasted fresh though so at least I could eat those.

I’d happily come back here again if the standards of the food and drinks were to improve but sadly for now, this will be my one and only visit to this...

Came here on the 11th December 2023 at around 8.40am.

Absolutely terrible service from the start. We put our order in and the guy repeated it back to us and all was OK. Came to been served to only recieve one out of three breakfast and no drinks at all.

Sat waiting for a short time assuming the rest was comming and went back up to be told they missed half the stuff off the order as they didn't realised (still was charged though).

Asked for a refund as we weren't going to sit around waiting for anuther two to ve made for the one we had to go cold to be only given a half refund, like really.

Eventually sorted it but a very bad experience definitely won't be returning, the guy serving definitely wasn't all there seemed like he was on something, then as we were packing up to go were were just getting dirty looks whilst they were talking amongst themselves.

AVOID.

had the staff deskt with this better amd showed positive communication skills me may well have stayed through...

We visited for the Baker Street Cafe for the first time today after hearing good things and we were not disappointed. We arrived just before lunchtime and the cafe was busy so we were very impressed at how efficient the staff were and how quickly our food arrived. The food was delicious and a good portion size. We also liked that the cafe is dog friendly and that our dog was served with his own bowl of water and some treats as soon as we sat down. We shall certainly be going back to the Baker Street Cafe as there are lots of other items on the menu we are looking forward to trying. Well done Baker Street team… your cafe is an absolute gem in the town.

I've been here a few times it's the perfect place for brunch items. I'm vegetarian and lactose intolerant so ask for the vegan menu which have a lot of the same options from the main menu on. I always find the staff super friendly and helpful if I ask anything to be swapped, they did run out of any of the parmos for my partner when we went last however it was close to closing time. At times it can be a little loud during the rush at midday so if you're someone like myself who struggles in loud environments it may be best to wait until the lunch time rush has gone.
