We went to Karak Chai in Middlesbrough, we heard all the hype about it lately so of course we also had to go and check it out..
Okay so there's hype, with very good reason. 👏 Let's start with the exterior, this new restaurant is where the banana leaf used to be at the bottom of Linthrope Road, it looks absolutely stunning outside and definitely stands out amongst the other buildings on the road.
Immediately upon entering, we were acknowledged and welcomed in with a friendly and warm smile. We chose to sit right next to their cascading water display which is very spectacular to watch whilst dining. The whole decor is beautiful and modern and elegant!
'Maz' approached our table immediately and provided us with menus and made sure we knew where he was should we have any questions regarding the menu etc, he gave us the right amount of time to decide and was very helpful in answering our questions with regards to recommendations. The whole time he displayed a smile with very professional and friendly manners that we were very happy to be in his presence as new customers.
We decided to get 'Karachi Biryani' which is a colourful spicy chicken and rice dish and we also got 'Chasi Karahi' which is a lightly spiced chicken curry with roti. We also tried the Chicken Tikka and Lamb Parata Rolls (but ate them before we took a picture lol).
The food tasted as beautiful as it looked!! It arrived hot and was very aromatic and arrived in really good time, we thoroughly enjoyed it!! Maz ensured we were well attended to and didn't leave a stone unturned. His service was outstanding.
We finished the food and a gentleman called Mohsin came over to ask if he could take the empty plates away and if we needed anything, to our suprise this was the brand owner of all 4 sites! He was super professional and super friendly, he had the most beautiful approach to his customers and even gave us his time in explaining his story to success and the story behind Karak Chai. We really appreciated this and appreciated his efforts with us as it was a very refreshing experience to be able to speak to the man behind the big brand himself!
Overall 10/10 experience and we will definitely be back, the service was outstanding from all of the team and the food is definitely worth coming back for!

Read moreIts been one of the worst experiences i have had at any restaurants. The staff is so unprofessional and slow, they cannot answer questions regarding the food items, they dont know how the food is going to be served as, when you ask them something they have to run to the kitchen to ask someone and then respond. The waiting time is painfully long and they mix up the orders as well they forget half the stuff that was ordered considering they take money first and then serve its weird that they forget half the things that were ordered. We were seated next to washroom and it was stinking and had to ask them twice to change our tables. They are too slow to cleaf out a table for new customers and dont do a decent job with it as well i had to ask them to clean my table as it was a bit sticky and the girl just cleaned the part of table in front of me and not the whole table. The food is so not worth it also we had ordered gajar ka halwa it came in tiny unclean stickyish glasses hardly 2 spoons per servings. We had also ordered there cake which i was a bit glad tasted ok and then there was a small hair in it, didnt want to upset the appetite of people seated with me so i just left the cake at is. Never been this disappointed with a food place and i hope they do remove the half inflated helium ballons from their opening day which look so meh . They need to train their staff better and order cakes from a different place and probably be better at mamaging their kitchen. Considering this isnt a first branch its weird how badly they are running it here. Extremely...
Read moreMy recent visit to My Karak Chai in Middlesbrough was a delightful experience that left me craving for more. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The rustic yet charming decor added to the cozy ambiance, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing time.
The highlight of the visit, of course, was the Karak chai. I ordered their signature blend, and it was an absolute treat for the senses. The rich aroma filled the air as the tea was prepared with precision and care. The first sip was an explosion of flavors, a perfect balance of spices and sweetness that danced on my taste buds. It was unlike any chai I've had before, and I instantly understood why it's such a beloved drink in Pakistan.
The menu had a variety of options, and I couldn't resist trying some of their snacks. The samosas were crispy and flavorful, and the kebabs were succulent and well-seasoned. The service was attentive, and the staff was more than happy to explain the different tea options and offer recommendations.
Overall, my visit to My Karak Chai was a memorable experience. From the exquisite chai to the charming ambiance, every aspect of the visit was top-notch. Whether you're a tea enthusiast or just looking for a unique culinary adventure, I highly recommend stopping by My Karak Chai in Middlesbrough for a truly...
