Shocking service!! I visited for breakfast on Thursday the 10th of April around 9:30am. It was very cold which couldn’t be helped much. I asked my server if the bagel on the breakfast menu came toasted, she confirmed with confidence that it does. I ordered a bagel with avocado, fried eggs and extra salmon. When I receieved my meal I could tell straight away it was not toasted, this was disappointing as I would not have otherwise ordered it. I knew I would mention it when my server came over to check back….this never happened. We were sat right next to the till and 3 staff went past us multiple times and not once did anyone ask how it was. They were not too busy enough to stand around sighing and chatting. I ate one egg and tried to eat half the bagel but I really didn’t enjoy it. My partner enjoyed hers and ate most of her breakfast. I sat while she ate not touching my plate. I waited and waited for anyone to check in and no one did. After we finished we waited a while again on someone taking the plates away, I thought surely someone will ask then. The plates were never cleared. I then flagged a staff member down and asked for the bill, the response was for me to pay at the till. I waited until my server was at the till, surely when I went to pay she would ask how my meal was. She never did. At this point I was sure they were avoiding me because clearly I was not happy, my full plate was still left on the table barely touched, my face definitely did not look happy. However, I couldn’t bring myself to say anything as it had lingered so long and I knew there was nothing they could do now to fix it. The food wasn’t particularly bad, I just knew I didn’t want a bagel not toasted but the server never did her basic job of checking back on the table to actually resolve any problem. At this point there was no point mentioning. There didn’t appear to be a senior member of staff of to complaint to and every staff member walked past our table as we were sat right next to the till. Clearly no one cared that almost a full plate was left untouched so I decided I would just pay and not...

Has always been one of my favourite cafes in St Andrews but it seems to have gradually gone downhill over the years.

Ordered eggs benedict and the egg yolks were completely solid, which I've never encountered anywhere for poached eggs. To make it worse, 1 of the 2 eggs didn't even contain the yolk, it was just egg white and I later found the solid ball of yolk for it hidden underneath the sauce between the 2 muffins, as if the chef couldn't be bothered making a new egg or thinks that's an acceptable way to serve a meal someone is paying for.

Service also felt cold and rushed, even though it was first thing in the morning and there were only a few tables in. I understand the cafe gets busy often and don't mind being rushed so much then, but being grumpily asked if we're ready to order when we'd only just been sat, it was quiet, and one member of our party wasn't even at the table isn't the standard of service Bibi's...

My family and I made the mistake of going to Bibi’s Cafe In St Andrews . we were seated quickly, however I felt that my chair was ‘unstable’ , during our visit my 7 year old grandson leaned on his fathers leg to have a conversation and the chair my son was sitting on broke. However it did not collapse, we soon finished and when paying I apologised to our waiter for the accidental damage to my sons chair,. I suggested they remove it until it was repaired! During this conversation a woman Employee interrupted us and Very Rudely said my grandson had broken the chair deliberately! . She was extremely rude to us I also pointed out that my hair had also felt unsafe and suggested they repair that ! Before it collapses and injured a customer. Needless to say we would not return to this Cafe, and would certainly challenge their claim To be...

I’ve liked this place and forgiven things like slow service etc because generally it’s a nice place but this visit wasn’t good at all and it’s time to let these St Andrews’ places realise that locals need good service as well as food! Lipstick stained cup served, profanity from the waitress when presenting it, the most bland scrambled eggs on bread, not toast, bread, and practically whole peppercorns on the plate. Stone cold tomato with obviously a dirty grill to give a charred look. The halloumi was cooked to that colour in the photo on one side only and the other side like rubber. Just this lack of attention and care just makes going out for a simple brunch an unhappy experience. I’m done with it, it’s embarrassing and depressing. This is someone’s business and I’m sorry for the owner(s).

I visited while on a coach tour with Loch Lomond Travel on Sunday, 10.11.2024. I stopped someone in the street and asked for a recommendation for a cosy café/coffee shop. Bibi's was the first mentioned. I was eating alone and the manager seated me immediately. I liked the vibe from the music to the other diners, very much a mix of students and families. I had avocado toast with bacon and poached eggs, a latte, and my fave in bru. The food was served quickly, very fresh and absolutely delicious. The bill was under £18 which I was happy to pay for the food, ambience and great service. I will definitely return on my next visit.
