This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The last time was nearly ten years ago, and I enjoyed my stay back then, which is why I decided to return. I have thoroughly enjoyed my two-night stay this time as well. The hotel’s reception staff was kind and very helpful, assisting me in upgrading to one of the executive rooms. The Old Tom Morris room is absolutely worth the cost, as it is the most spacious on-site, with a great sea view, very quiet (which is vital for a good night's sleep), and a super-large bathroom with a roll-top bath. I love the room's decoration and color scheme, which gives me a warm, relaxing feel. The location of the hotel is as convenient as ever, which is one of the reasons I chose to stay here in the first place. It's within a 10-minute walk to the heart of the town, and there are sufficient parking spaces in front of the hotel as well. I have fond memories of the hotel’s breakfast, and the quality has not dropped over the years. There are many hot dishes to choose from, and the fruits and yogurt are still my favorites. I would also like to give a special mention to the efficient service of the housekeeping staff. After I requested additional bath cubes and shower gel at reception, they were delivered to my room before I even returned upstairs! Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Du Vin St Andrews, and it will always be my first choice of accommodation when I visit St Andrews.

Treated my mum to afternoon tea at Hotel du Vin for her birthday. Glad to say she enjoyed the experience. The afternoon tea comes a traditional selection of sandwiches, scones with jam and cream and a variety of cakes. It all tasted delicious, especially the rum baba cakes. There is also a selection of tea with unlimited refills. The tea does, however, come in tea bags instead being loose leaf. Service was excellent. The staff were happy to accommodate my dietary needs and replaced the salmon sandwiches with another filling. At £22.50 per head i thought the afternoon tea was good value for money, since we were all stuffed by the end (they do offer doggy bags in case you are unable to eat your way through all the cakes).

Lovely little hotel nice rooms great location evening meal average breakfast among the best I've had. The service was excellent especially considering we travelled off peak and the hotel and restaurant was far from full, Hotel Du Vin had an almost full staff levels. My wife and I recently visited Hotel Du Vin Brighton and the bar atmosphere was relaxed in both hotels. Low soft lighting comfortable seating areas not formal in the least, the outside seating area just off the soft seating bar area was a pleasant surprise. Opposite the aquarium and the seafood restaurant ( yup a bit of an odd neighbour 😬) and the golf course sands just 80 mtrs away. Definitely high on my list of the places to stay in St Andrews.

Rooms were great. Food was great. Been coming here for years with my wife and family. After eating our dinner in the hotel restaurant we were not allowed to finish our drinks in the bar area or the conservatory area just off the bar because we had kids with us. The reason, licensing laws. I'm from Scotland and are unsure how long this law has been in place but I think it's many years. This has never been an issue before. It took away from our experience massively and means we will not be back with our kids, a real shame as the hotel is great to stay at. Would've given a four or five star if not for this. In addition the reception area is basically a couple of seats, feet from the reception and is the main thoroughfare where guests and staff traverse. Hardly a relaxing area Herve. There were some seats at other end of hotel but were taken all night as function was on and guests from that occupied and other hotel guests with kids. Noone could explain why the conservatory area off the bar area could not be used. The receptionist on the night commented that children don't usually visit. We basically had to go to our rooms for rest of evening which is what hotel management want I think. If you don't want kids coming to your hotel them advertise it but of course you won't do that because you will quite happily take people's money without any thought or consideration to how families will be Treated on their holidays after 8pm. We would have been as well sitting in the...

We held my gran’s 90th birthday here 3yrs ago - we flew up from England after my dad had planned it all with the hotel but unfortunately my dad fell Ill right before and so him plus my mum had to stay behind, it was left to me and my older brother to travel alone and to host a big group of family and friends for our Gran. Unfortunately our uncle and cousins also couldn’t make the event at the last moment due to a family death so me and my brother were hosting a lot of people we really didn’t know as well as running around preparing balloons and banners getting the cake etc in Scotland which my poor brother hadn’t driven in much before let alone in a manual hire car. The whole even felt like it was heading for disaster even before the party had even begun and we were both pretty stressed and short with each other when we normally get on well as a team. Once we got to the hotel the staff could see we were in a pickle - they helped us put the balloons and banners up and arrange the cake by the window to make the room look great. They assured us all the food and drinks were ready to go once people arrived and all we had to do was enjoy the party so we did. And thanks to the kind friendly staff helping us the event went without a hitch. Our gran had the best time surrounded by family and friends and looking back now those are memories we treasure as we did that without our mum and dad being their to host it as well. Lovely hotel with amazing views and...
