I recently had an extremely unpleasant experience at Hams Hame, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment and frustration with others. It was an evening that left me feeling humiliated and discriminated against due to their discriminatory wealth-based entrance policy.
Upon arriving at Hams Hame with a group of friends, we were excited to enjoy an evening out together after our first round of golf on our golf trip. However, after asking for a table for 7, It quickly became apparent that the sole reason we were being denied entry was that we did not meet their arbitrary standards of wealth.
What makes this situation particularly egregious is that the pub was far from crowded. Plenty of space was available inside, and we were simply looking to have a good time like any other patron. However, it seemed that the pub's priority was not providing an inclusive and welcoming environment, but rather catering exclusively to the affluent.
My experience here was profoundly disappointing and disheartening. I would caution anyone seeking a welcoming and inclusive environment to think twice before considering this...
Read moreAlthough the staff were lovely I have to say we were very disappointed with the cost and quality of the food and drinks provided. I am more than happy to pay £18.50 for a meal but not when you only get 5 bits of butter chicken in a curry and a spoonful of rice and a mini naan. £18 for a chicken parmigiana that was over cooked and dry with a tasteless pasta was hugely overpriced as was £11 for a glass of house Rose and £8.50 for a pint of lager - the saving grace was the truffle and Parmesan fries at £7 and the fudge ice cream recommended by our lovely young female waitress which came in a pre-packed tub - golf in the multiple TVs which you’d expect I suppose in St Andrews but a bit of background music may have enhanced the atmosphere a bit. All in all - 4 bus journeys to and from Kirriemuir to St Andrews and £83 for a mediocre lunch date did not make for a day trip we’d be in a hurry to repeat...
Read morethe steak pie was the only thing people at my table enjoyed.
the veg curry and the Mac n cheese were bland to the point of being tasteless.
we went on a busy Saturday night and did not get our starters until we had been seated for 60 minutes (a bowl of soup, fried pickles). Once we'd been seated for 80 minutes we started asking about our entrees. multiple tables had gotten their food while we waited. 3 tables that were seated after us got food and left before we got our mains. we flagged this and the manager told us 'no worries' and that it'll be out shortly. Our food came out 20 minutes later (1 hour 40 minutes from sitting) manager comped us 10% and said that was the best he could do because 'it's normal for restaurants to get busy and this to happen'.... bruh. c'mon. someone forgot to fire our food. the wait staff were sweet but wholly...
